Palworld is close to launching in early access, and it looks like the perfect game to play with friends! But, is it single-player or multiplayer?
Whether you’re hoping to join up with friends or play solo, it’s important to know what modes Palworld supports!
In this article, we’ll look into if Palworld is a purely single-player game or if it has multiplayer features.
Single-Player or Multiplayer?
From everything we know about Palworld, the game is set to feature both single-player and multiplayer modes. This isaccording to the FAQ posted on the game’s official Steam Store page.
The multiplayer mode will allow you and your friends to visit each other worlds, allowing for up to 4 players at the same time.
Additionally, you can either join or host dedicated servers. Dedicated servers can have up to 32 players at once, instead of the standard cap of 4 players.
Another important detail is that your character is tied to your world.
As such, you can’t take your character to join other players’ games or servers; you’ll need to create different characters for each world.
On the other hand, being the host of your own world will allow you to freely change between single-player and multiplayer modes.
Also, it’s worth mentioning that multiplayer is exclusively cooperative upon the initial Early Access launch.
PvP multiplayer is in the works, but it’s only going to be available with a post-launch release.
Sadly, there are no estimates on when PvP will be added. There are no details on how it’s expected to work, either. All we know is that we can expect it sometime in the future!
Lastly, there is no crossplay available between Xbox consoles and the PC version at launch.
That said, the developers at PocketPair have said that they are working on implementing crossplay “as soon as possible.”
Bit of a shame that PvP and crossplay won’t be there on day one, but at least we have something to look forward to!
Nonetheless, that’s everything there is to know about Palworld’s single-player and multiplayer functionality.
Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
