Ark: Survival Ascended is the long-awaited remake of Ark: Survival Evolved released in 2015. It contains a lot of prehistoric creatures, and it can be hard to determine which ones to tame.
Players usually tame the best offensive dinosaurs to help them in their journey. If you are, we got you all covered.
In this article, we’ll go through a list of the top 8 DPS dinos ranked in descending order by how much damage per second they do.
Top 8 Highest DPS Dinos
The names of the 8 highest DPS dinos based on the game’s statistics are ranked below, in order of highest damaging to least damaging.
1. Giganotosaurus
Finally at number one in terms of raw DPS, we have the acclaimed Giganotosaurus. One of the fan-favorite dinos for a reason, its raw damage output is higher than every other dinosaur in the game.
Doing 159 points of damage per attack, it trumps every other dinosaur’s damage easily at Level 1. They attack fast and have a decent range because of their size, making them extremely useful in all combat situations. Leveling up their melee abilities can make them exceptionally deadly, and a dino to be respected by all.
There you have it, the top 8 highest damaging dinosaurs in Ark Survival Ascended. While all of these creatures are fearsome in their own way, these are the dinosaurs that should be feared the most.
2. Carcharodontosaurus
While the Carcharodontosaurus comes with a daunting name, it’s not the only thing remarkable about it. They’re unique because they deal stacked damage, which means that every time you kill an enemy you get a higher damage output.
Without stacks, it does 42 damage which isn’t much but with max stack it does more damage than the highest damage dealing dinosaur in the game. This specialty along with how easy it is to tame makes it a must-have for anyone wanting a good dino.
If you position yourself correctly, the wide range of the attack can help you take down multiple enemies at once.
3. Mosasaurus
Heading up our top 3 is the Mosasaurus, another massive water-based creature. It can be equipped with a tech saddle and is pretty speedy as well.
They do 144 damage with their fast frontal attack as well, which is a very significant amount and can be massively helpful when dealing with tougher enemies.
They’re also the highest damage water creature period. They come with a damage rate much higher than the Plesiosaur and the Tusoteuthis.
4. Plesiosaur
While the Plesiosaur is not the most popular dinosaur in the game, it is still a great option for damage. Their wide body means they do damage across a wide area, which can prove very useful in certain cases.
Despite their large size, they still retain a very fast pace of swimming and are surprisingly mobile. They also do a base damage of 118 with their quick attacks.
5. Tusoteuthis
The Tusoteuthis or the “squid” is one of the biggest creatures in the game and they’re water-based just like our old friend Dunkly.
Their basic attack does 96 damage, which is 4 higher than the Rex at Level 1. It can be difficult to get used to controlling them, as they move in a tank-like fashion.
Once you get the hang of it, you will see just how fast they can move. Their speed gets especially boosted when using their ink ability, which propels them forward.
6. Rex
While the Rex might not be able to tank as much damage as a Brontosaurus, they move much faster and do more damage. They also come with a very good-looking tech saddle.
The Rex’s basic bite attack does 92 damage, and it is a lot faster than the attacks mentioned previously. They are one of the best all-rounders in addition to being so heavily damaging too. The Rexs are great for bosses especially, as they provide good defense as well as an offense with high-level saddles.
7. Brontosaurus
While the Brontosaurus is often disliked because of its size and lack of speed, it more than makes up for it with its damage and tanking capabilities. They’re one of the few dinosaurs to not take heavy increased turret damage.
Their base damage through the tail whip attack is 89 DPS. This attack also applies knockback with every swing, which is why it’s ranked above the Dunkleosteus.
This same ability can be used to collect a lot of items at once, clearing multiple bushes and trees at once. This is why, when used effectively, the Brontosaurus is one of the best dinos in the game.
8. Dunkleosteus
The Dunkleosteus or “Dunkly” for short, is more of a fish than a dinosaur. It is one of the best water-based creatures in Ark: Survival Ascended. In addition to providing a high DPS rate, it can also be used to collect various resources from the water.
They deal 94 damage per swing, and can also be good for defense as the front of their face is considered armored. Their body is also massive, which can be of great help as you use them to traverse the oceans for combat.
