The new Twinightmare season is out for Torchlight: Infinite, so it’s time to bust out your best league starter for season number 5!

A league starter is a character that requires low overall investment and can level up quickly, making them perfect for boosting to the new content in a season.

In this article, we provide you with a tier list of the best characters to pick as your league starter and which ones you should avoid!

Season 5 League Starter Tier List

Torchlight Infinite: Best League Starter Tier List Season 5 - Ice-Fire Gemma
  • Top Tier – Frostfire Gemma (Ice-Fire Fusion) Berserker Rehan (Anger),
  • High Tier – Frostfire Gemma (Frostbitten Heart), Spacetime Witness Youga (Spacetime Illusion), Spacetime Witness Youga (Spacetime Elapse)
  • Medium Tier – Berserker Rehan (Seething Silhouette), Divineshot Carino (Ranger of Glory), Cateye Erika (Wind Stalker), The Forsaken Iris (Growing Breeze), Commander Moto (Order Calling), Commander Moto (Charge Calling), Lightbringer Rosa (High Order Chariot)
  • Low Tier – Divineshot Carino (Lethal Flash), Escapist Bing (Blast Nova), Oracle Thea (Incarnation of The Gods), Oracle Thea (Wisdom of The Gods)
  • Bottom Tier – Frostfire Gemma (Flame of Pleasure)

At a quick glance, it’s somewhat amusing that Gemma manages to be both in the top and bottom tiers!

However, Frosftire Gemma (Ice-Fire Fusion) is simply a very low-budget and easy to learn character. She’s a perfect league starter for the majority of players!

You won’t need to spend much or any currency to get a solid Ice-Fire Fusion build going, and she will be good all the way to the endgame.

On the other hand, Frostfire Gemma (Flame of Pleasure) suffers from being a relatively high-budget character.

She’s quite easy to play too, at least, although less versatile than Ice-Fire Fusion. But her high budget requirement and slow start make her less desirable.

The other most notable character on this list is Berserker Rehan (Anger). A very popular fan favorite for a reason, Anger Rehan is extremely easy to play, levels up very fast, and is very low budget.

The only downside is that he’s a bit of a one-trick pony playstyle, making him feel a tad too basic and less versatile than other heroes. Still, though, he’s by far your best bet for a melee-focused league starter!

The Medium & Low Tiers

Now, the Medium tier on this list is where most of the characters belong currently. This is primarily due to all of the Medium-tier characters requiring a lot more investment than those in the top tier.

If you are willing to spend currency and buy the unlocks for these characters, though, you will find that they’re quite solid to play at the start of the new season.

This includes the newcomer, Lightbringer Rosa (High Order Chariot). She’s a very fun and somewhat unorthodox character, but you can only get her by purchasing the current seasonal Battle Pass!

As for the Low tier, though, things are a bit different. Characters in the Low tier aren’t just characters that require a higher budget, but also characters that are slow to level up or are endgame-focused.

For example, both Oracle Thea identities are extremely strong, but only once you reach endgame.

Thea’s progression is rather slow and she’s a high-budget character, so you’ll want to avoid her as a league starter.

Ultimately, your best bets for a league starter are the classic Anger Rehan and Ice-Fire Gemma!

These two characters have been with the game since the beginning, and they are still the most beginner-friendly league starters.

So, now you know which characters are recommended to pick for the new Twinightmare season of Torchlight: Infinite!
