Picking a main character in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising has never been an easy task. With so many options to choose from and many different classes, it is a Herculean task to do. However, we’re here today to help you with that!
Dive on in as we guide you to finding the best option for you in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising!
Things to Consider When Picking Your Main in Granblue Fantasy Versus
Before we start with the actual characters. Keep in mind that you want to choose those characters with fewer options when it comes to combat mechanics and combos.
This is because at the very beginning, especially if you are a new player to Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, it will be very difficult to keep track of all the possibilities some more complex characters may offer.
Now, let’s get into the characters themselves.
Gran
Gran is perhaps your best option, especially if you’re a beginner at GFV: Rising. While this character may be simple and with fewer options than for example Narmaya, he still packs a decent punch.
His fireball and basic combos are more than enough to defeat your opponents and bring their health bar down to 0. As we have mentioned in our other article, Gran’s move “boot” is especially devastating and difficult to counter as it is remarkably fast.
Katalina
Similarly to Gran, Katalina is another good choice of a main character when it comes to combat. While she resembles Gran in many ways, her combat mechanics stand out and are arguably more effective once you get a grip on the controls.
She can attack from further out, thus keeping you at a safe distance while doing so. This is especially good for newer players who like to play it safe and keep some distance between themselves and their opponents.
Lowain
Long-time players might be surprised to see Lowain on this list but hear us out. New players will love him! He is your loveable jokester who is an absolute joy to watch with hilarious combos and even funnier specials.
Keep in mind that you will need some practice to use this character effectively. If you are new to the game, learning this character first will give you an advantage over other players who simply don’t know how to counter their attacks. Because of this, he deals significantly more damage than you might expect and will get you ever closer to victory.
Narmaya
Narmaya is arguably one of the most difficult characters to use in GFV: Rising. The sheer amount of options you have with her makes it a nightmare to learn. Think of it as learning advanced nuclear physics at a high school difficulty level.
However, if you’re an experienced gamer who fancies a challenge, then we highly recommend learning this character. She has 8 specials in total and your opponents will have a hard time finding ways to counter all of your different attacks and combos. Mastery of this character will surely bring you victory!
Nier
Where to start…be very careful when choosing Nier as your main character in this game. You can get burned easily if you don’t know what you’re doing. If by any chance you do however, then gg, you have successfully beaten the game.
Nier is an incredibly difficult character to use in GFV: Rising because of the possibility that you’ll end up hurting yourself instead of your opponents. Her heart meter, which is set to 12, counts down to 0, and once it does, it is game over for you.
