Guardian IV is the highest difficulty in Roboquest, and tackling it without knowing some tips and tricks would be a fool’s errand.

This difficulty will put your skills to the test, but the game’s randomization also means that luck plays an important part! Steel yourself for this challenge, brobot.

Tips & Tricks for Guardian IV Difficulty

Become An Engineer

While all of the classes in Roboquest are good and viable, some of them are simply easier to excel with than others.

The Engineer in particular is a fantastic pick for Guardian IV difficulty.

This is mostly because the Engineer’s primary ability, Summon-Buddies, allows him to call in drones for help!

These drones don’t just deal damage to enemies, they also draw in aggro! This means you will be focused on less by enemies, giving you some breathing room.

Make good use of these drones to protect yourself and also increase your damage output.

Use The Buddy Bot

If we’re already going with the Engineer, why not double down and get even more buddies to help us out? Make sure to pick up the Buddy Bot for your secondary weapon at the start of the run!

This weapon allows you to call in an extra pal, aptly called the Buddy Bot.

This robobuddy can be set down anywhere, turning it into a turret that will fire away at enemies and also pull their attention to protect you.

We hope you’ve noticed the pattern already: your goal is to have your drones and the Buddy Bot help you draw fire away from yourself.

You can even improve the Buddy Bot later on with certain perks and upgrades!

Choose Perks Wisely

Speaking of perks and upgrades, make sure to focus on ones that will enhance your drones and Buddy Bot.

These are some of the key perks to look for:

Dronezerker: Increases the damage done by drones, while also making them more likely to draw aggro from baddies.
Targeting Protocol: Gives you better control over your drones, allowing you to focus fire on bosses and Elites with ease.
Elemental Buddies (Shock): Makes your drones shoot out electrifying bullets, which can stun enemies and prevent them from acting for a moment.
Family Swarm: Gives you more drones at a time, although it also weakens them somewhat. Getting a couple more is excellent, but don’t overdo it.
Geared Buddies (Scanner): Allows your drones to mark enemies, which increases the damage they take.
Fantastic Buddy Bot: Can be obtained at the Oasis, just a massive overall upgrade to your Buddy Bot’s capabilities!

Recommended Items

When picking up loot, you’ll want to focus on items that provide healing efficiency, marking, and Shock. Due to how the game’s loot is randomized, this is going to rely heavily on luck!

Healing efficiency will greatly increase how much HP you get for each healing cell you consume. Get items like the Rice Cooker and Thermos Flask.

Shock will be your main elemental focus because it can stun your enemies, making them much easier to deal with. Items like Drum and Floppy Disk are your friends here!

Marking will be what you get for damage, on the other hand. Applying the “Mark” effect on an enemy drastically increases the damage they take. Pick up stuff like the Bowl and 3D Glasses if you can!

Of course, also make sure to pick up a strong weapon! Any weapon that deals Shock elemental damage will be extremely welcome in this run.
