“Spotting Spot” is one of the many quests you can do as you explore the large open world in Tears of the Kingdom.

This quest will task you with recovering a missing horse known as Spot. It’s dangerous out there with all these monsters roaming free and whatnot, so you will want to get him to safety!

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to start and complete this quest.

The Spotting Spot quest is started at the Lookout Landing stable in Central Hyrule. It can only be done after you completed the “Incomplete Stable” quest too.

Speak to the old man at the front of the stable, Lester, and he will mention that a horse named Spot has gone missing.

Spot is a white horse with lots of black spots dotted all over his body, which is where his name comes from! Due to these unique characteristics, he’s pretty easy to spot out in the open, too.

Now, head directly southwest of Lookout Landing, to the large open field in the area. We marked the proper area in the image above, it’s inside the red circle.

Look for Spot in the field and carefully approach him, making sure not to spook him. Press A to mount him once you get close enough, but make sure your stamina is full before you do!

Press L once you mount Spot to soothe him. Just keep pressing until he calms down and he will be tamed.

Lastly, just ride Spot toward the Lookout Landing stable and present him to Lester. He will thank you for recovering the horse and give you a Purple Rupee, worth 50 Rupees.

Additionally, he will also allow you to keep Spot for yourself! Feel free to register him at any stable if you wish to keep him. Spotting Spot quest complete!
