Money is a very useful resource in Wartales. You use it for pretty much everything, from buying stuff for your party to upgrading your companions and more.
However, money can sometimes be hard to come by.
Luckily, there are a few proven and tested methods that will help you make tons of money, otherwise known as Krowns, in the game. One such method is by capturing outlaws.
In this guide, we’ll show you how exactly you can capture outlaws and how you can make tons of money out of them.
A Quick Guide to Capturing Outlaws in Wartales
First off, you want to look for a nearby jail on your map. Head inside the jail and speak with the guard to purchase chains.
You will be using these chains to capture outlaws which you’ll then have to bring to jail in exchange for money.
You also want to purchase the blueprint for the stocks which you can place in your camp while resting to prevent your captured outlaws from escaping.
Make sure to craft one of these in your workshop before you head out to capture some outlaws.
The next step is to start looking for outlaws which could either be a group of bandits or deserters. You’ll be able to find most of them out in the woods, though some will be roaming around the road.
Once you come across a group of outlaws, all you have to do is engage them in combat.
Just like how you would capture an animal, you also have to bring down your target’s HP to at least 50%.
The lower the HP, the easier it will be for you to capture them. Ideally, leave at least three of the outlaws alive during combat so you can capture them after.
All you have to do is have one of your units engage with your target in combat. Then, move another unit next to that target. This will then unlock the Knock Out ability.
What it does is it knocks out your target so you can take it as a prisoner. This will require a chain, which is why you want to bring as many chains as possible before you start capturing outlaws.
Turning them in for Profits
After capturing some outlaws, simply head back to the jail and speak to the guard. You will then see a dialogue option that says “Hand over a prisoner”.
Just click it to get your Krowns as a reward.
That said, you can only hand over three prisoners at a time. If you attempt to hand over a fourth prisoner, a prompt will appear saying that the dungeons are full. You’ll have to wait a few days in order to do this again.
Also, every time you hand over a prisoner, it will reduce your Suspicion level. This makes it a solid solution if your Wanted Level is high.
Important Things to Keep in Mind
Now, you can’t just bring around prisoners with you and leave them be. Once you head back to your camp, make sure to place your captured outlaws in the stocks to prevent them from escaping.
You can also check their traits to see if they have some nice traits that you want.
If one of the prisoners has some interesting traits, you can keep them in your camp and wait for them to turn neutral. After that, you can then recruit them to your party.
You can also treat their injuries and even give them meals. However, do keep in mind that this will lower the happiness level of your entire party.
