As you complete quests and progress in Dredge, you will unlock new tools and abilities to help you catch different types of fish.
Among these are the Crab Pots which are one of the earliest you can unlock. They can be laid out and left to automatically catch crabs.
In this guide, we’ll tell you how to unlock and use these tools!
How to Unlock Crab Pots in Dredge
You will unlock the ability to use Crab Pots by completing the first two objectives for the Fishmonger’s “Caught to Order” Pursuit.
You can start it as early as Chapter 0 of the game, so it’s one of the first you should be doing! However, you will need to pay off your debt to the Mayor first.
For the first step, you will need to catch a Gulf Flounder and a Grey Eel. Both of these fishes are found during the day in The Marrows’ shallow waters.
Bring these to him and he’ll challenge you with some night fishing.
Next, you will need to get two Arrow Squids and one Black Grouper. Arrow Squids are found near coastal waters while Black Groupers are in shallow waters. Both only appear at night!
Once you bring these night fish to him, he will be impressed and give you Crab Pots.
At the same time, he will task you with catching a Common Crab and a Fiddler Crab. Time to break out the Crab Pots you just unlocked!
Simply place the Crab Pots anywhere, keeping them between 10 to 25 meters deep. Leave them for the day and come pick them up the next day to get both crabs.
Bring the crabs back to the fishmonger and you will be able to continue his quests.
