In the Knockout Mode of Rocket League, players have to knock their opponents off of the arena to earn points. This is made much easier by grabs.

Grabs will allow you to disable your opponent momentarily, allowing you to throw them far away from the ring! They will have a hard time recovering from it once you master it.

This guide will teach you how to make use of this powerful technique.

Grabbing is a simple action to do, but you might need to practice the timing for it. It requires multiple quick inputs, and good timing between them.

Also, note that we will be using the default controls for each platform.

To perform a grab, you need to press and hold the Grab button while doing a Dodge toward the opponent you wish to grab.

The grab button is by default the same as the brake button on every platform except PC. On the other hand, dodges are done by quickly pressing the Jump button twice.

The default buttons for each action are as follows on each platform:

  • Grab: Left Shift on PC, L2 on PlayStation, LT on Xbox, and ZL on Nintendo Switch.
  • Jump: Right Click on PC, X on PlayStation, A on Xbox, and B on Nintendo Switch.

It will take some getting used to, but you should keep practicing it until you master it. It will come naturally eventually.

Of course, you can also freely rebind the controls as you wish on every platform.

Some players like to make the Grab button the same as the Jump button. This prevents accidentally braking when attempting grabs while also making it so you can grab with a single button press.

Lastly, you can throw your opponent by pressing the dodge input again. Throw them off the arena and into traps to take them out.
