Ghostbusters fans are rejoicing after the announcement that the highly-anticipated videogame Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed is due for release in a couple of days.  The game is based on the popular pop-culture icon Ghostbusters movie series.

Players can use ghost-capturing equipment and customize them to their liking.  As such, fans are asking, what kinds of ghosts are we going to expect coming into the game?

There are several, actually. With each ghost having its own set of abilities. This guide will go through them one-by-one, so you can get ahead of the competition. Let’s get to it.

All Ghost Types and Abilities Guide | Which Ghost to Pick in Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed

It has been reported that not everyone can play ghost right away. It takes new players 2-3 matches before they can unlock Ghost characters.

Once you unlock it, you will encounter a tutorial teaching you how to use the ghosts correctly.

Ectoplast

The Ectoplast is the perfect ghost for beginners. It has slippery movement and it applies slime to the busters. If slime is hit on a buster, it effectively slows down its movement. He excels in movement due to his large energy attribute.

There are also skins or variants available. The variants look like just skins but they also change up one of its abilities. For example, Brainy can do a glob throw.

These ghosts have a shorter scare cooldown and an increased possess/transfer objects distance. But, they have a shorter scare distance and harder tether escape.

It’s an all-around class except it has less energy.

Out of all the other ghosts, he has the slowest movement. However, he can scare destroyed objects burst with P.K.E, slow to tether, has a shorter stun duration, and has more powerful buster knockbacks.

The catch to this ghost is that it has a slower rift detonation and it has a tougher trap minigame.

Howler

The Howler has a lot of energy. Its special attributes are a longer spawned minion lifespan, additional minion health, and an increased scare distance but have a tighter scare cone and a longer scare cooldown.

The Poltergeist

The Poltergeist has the lowest fear out of any ghost. However, he just might be the strongest ghost in the roster since he passively shocks the buster when near.

Not only that but he has a much faster P.K.E regeneration, more effective proton pack sabotage, and increased trap and gadget damage.

But he is easier to tether, has a greater pack sabotage cost, and has a longer stun period.
