Similar to other ARPGs, the character or class you’re going to choose in Torchlight: Infinite will depend on your playstyle. Luckily, there are several options available to you, and each of them caters to different playstyles.

If you want to know which is the best character to play for you, then check out this guide.

Which is the Best Character to Play | Class Guide in Torchlight: Infinite

As of now, there are five different characters in Torchlight: Infinite, each having its respective class. A new one named Oracle Thea will be released sometime soon. Unfortunately, we don’t have a lot of information about the character, so we’ll just leave it out here.

Going back to the characters, each of them features special traits and abilities that you won’t find in the other, and so on. To help you decide which character is the best to play, let’s have an overview of all of them.

Frostfire Gemma

If you prefer the Mage archetype, then your best option is Frostfire Gemma. As a mage, she commands various spells that she use to take down her enemies. These spells are so powerful that they can make quick work of a horde of enemies in seconds.

This also allows you to position at a relatively safe distance since all you need to do is focus on your target and cast your spell.

Divineshot Carino

Divineshot Carino is your standard ranger in Torchlight: Infinite. He specializes in projectiles as well as a variety of ranged weapons. Not only that, but he also boasts of the highest movement speed and mobility in the game.

His skillset and abilities allow him to move in and out of battle quickly and easily. Also, just like Gemma, you can safely attack your enemies from a distance but with more focus on combos and smaller AOE attacks.

Berserker Rehan

Berserker Rehan is, as the name implies, your standard Berserker. So if you’re a fan of melee close combat, then this is the perfect class for you. Rehan specializes in close combat that deals tons of damage which can be further amplified with the Rage mechanic.

Aside from that, Rehan is also a tanky character, allowing you to take on hits without taking a huge chunk off your health. As long as you can sustain the Rage meter, you’ll be able to benefit from the various boosts that Rehan has to offer.

Commander Moto

Commander Moto serves as the engineer class in the game. He offers a good balance between ranged and melee combat. Moto also specializes in a wide range of playstyles, making him a perfect choice for players who want to experiment with either close or ranged combat.

He can also summon minions to help win fights faster, making him the closest to a Summoner or Necromancer you can get in the game.

Spacetime Witness Youga

Similar to Gemma, Spacetime Witness Youga also employs spells to take down enemies in combat. However, unlike Gemma who uses elemental magic, Youga uses spacetime magic that relies on deadly attack combos.

He plays much like Divineshot Carino but with a unique mechanic to the way he uses magic.

Brought into the world of gaming by the time he was 10, Argie knew that gaming will bring him countless hours of fun, a thing that has never changed even up to this day. His passion for games is apparent in the articles he write, and as an expert in the genre, being able to share what he's learned, discovered, and accomplished to his fellow gamers is such an amazing opportunity.
