Jellystone is a common (but incredibly essential) resource in Slime Rancher 2, the recent sequel to the cult-favorite Slime Rancher.

The material is described as “a semi-hardened mixture of material and slime.”

Jellystone can be obtained from rocks and mineral formations around Rainbow Island, and from Slime Science crates.

On your ranch, once you’ve obtained Jellystone, you can deposit it into the refinery to graft various Slime Science gadgets, including the following:

Drone (6 Required)
Medical Station (6 Required)
Novice Gordo Snare (10 Required)
Blue Warp Depot (6 Required)
Green Warp Depot (6 Required)
Market Link (6 Required)

You can also use them towards crafting decorations:

Red Slime Lamp (8 Required)
Berry Slime Lamp (6 Required)
Battery Tower (4 Required)
Crystal Sconce (4 Required)
Ruined Pillar (4 Required)
Crystal Cluster (4 Required)

Jellystone is also used for the Refinery Link, utilities, upgrading your health, constructing the pulse wave, and even upgrading the capacity of your vac tank. Clearly, an important resource.

So, where to find Jellystone around Rainbow Island? And how do you obtain them?

Where to Find Jellystone in Slime Rancher 2

You’ll most commonly find Jellystone on rocky surfaces scattered throughout Rainbow Fields. You’ll see them as round-ish purple deposits jutting out of the rock formations. They’ll continually respawn periodically, you can always re-visit locales to farm them.

Your vac pack will not be able to simply harvest them from stones, and you have to actually break them free from the rocks they are attached to.

First, you must research the resource harvester from the Fabricator before you are able to successfully utilize the vac pack to obtain resources like this from the environment.

Once this has been done, head to caves and caverns for better chances of locating Jellystone; they can also commonly be found throughout Rainbow Fields on any sort of rocky surface. Stick to the western side of Rainbow Fields for the best results.

Once you’ve come across a deposit, simply use your vac pack on it (once upgraded) and you should notice the deposit of Jellystone shake and crumble. Keep on using the vac pack to collect them. Typically you’ll obtain 2 or 3 pieces from one stone. Once you’ve done this, all you need to do is deposit them into your refinery!
