Malek’ta, the Jaws of Oblivion, is one of the rare NPCs you can fight in WoW: The War Within. It’s a huge sandworm that terrorizes the area around Naakroa. Summon it by pretending to be its prey, then slay it to put an end to its hunt! You’ll get some sweet loot and progress towards a Warband Achievement, too. Eager to slay this beastie? Read on for all the details.
Malek’ta, the Jaws of Oblivion Rare Location | WoW: The War Within

To find Malek’ta, go to the spot shown above. It’s in the middle between Eco-Dome: Primus and Naakroa in K’aresh. Its approximate locations are 53.91, 58.85.

Once you get there, you should spot a wrecked caravan surrounded by Krolusk and Dustback corpses. You can inspect the corpses to read some tidbits about them if you wish, though this isn’t necessary.

Simply walk along the area where the caravan is for a bit. After a bit of walking, you’ll see some dust and dirt at your feet. You’ll also get a little notification saying “Something stirs far beneath you.” When you see this, start jumping repeatedly. We don’t know how many jumps it takes exactly, so just keep jumping repeatedly.

Eventually, Malek’ta will spawn right under your feet! I guess all that jumping around angered it… don’t worry, though, you don’t take damage from it bursting from the ground. It will simply push you back and spawn a set of easily-avoided falling rocks.
At this point, all that’s left for you is to fight! Defeat Malekta, the Jaws of Oblivion, to claim some sweet loot in WoW: The War Within. This also counts toward progression for the “Remnants of a Shattered World” Warband Achievement, which requires you to slay all 19 rare monsters found in K’aresh. One down!
Want to hunt another rare enemy in K’aresh for that achievement? Conveniently, we also have a guide on how to summon Heka’tamos. It’s another of the 19 rare monsters, and it also requires a specific summoning ritual to encounter.
