Where to Find Legendary Axe Krakatoa Location – Dead Island 2

Krakatoa is a legendary axe that you can earn in Dead Island 2. This powerful weapon channels the power of fire with each mighty swing, maiming and burning zombies with every strike!

Where to Find the Legendary “Krakatoa” Axe in Dead Island 2

The Krakatoa is obtained by completing the “Missing: Steve” quest. This is one of the missing person questions that you unlock after you progress the story in Ocean Avenue.

Start the quest by picking up Steve’s missing letter from the board in Ocean Avenue. Make sure to set this quest as tracked to make it easier.

Fast travel to Monarch Studios and enter the open Stage 3 gate. Find a letter on a red bed in the set which is to your right as you enter the studio.

Now, investigate the kitchen set. Pick up the soap on the counter first, then interact with the box on the floor. Lastly, interact with the phone on the stairs.

Make sure to do these in the exact order!

Follow the quest marker to the west until you reach Stage 7 where you will find a trailer. However, make sure to bring a gun as it’s covered in explosive sacks. Shoot them to clear them out first.

With the sacks cleared, enter the trailer and grab the journal on the floor which lets you know where Steve was heading.

Chase Steve’s trail by traveling over to Beverly Hills. Follow the quest marker to find Steve alive and well! He will be on the balcony of one of the fancy houses in the area.

Helping Steve Realize His Vision

After finding Steve, he will then ask you to help him with his filmmaking, so speak with him and get all the details.

You now need to get 3 different unique zombies. Lure them in front of the balcony so Steve can get a good look at them. Do not kill them unless told otherwise!

The first one is The Villain which is a unique butcher. Go up the stairs left of Steve to find him close to a villa gate. Make him notice you then have him follow you to Steve.

Steve will get a good look at The Villain, say he’s perfect, and then ask you to kill him. Simply follow the director’s instructions and kill The Villain.

Now, find The Hero which is a runner dressed as a firefighter, and he can be found on the road above Steve’s house. Be quick when luring him since he’s quite fast! Kill him once Steve tells you to.

Lastly, find The Hunk. He’s a burning Crusher which you can find directly opposite to Steve’s house. Go down the stairs and follow the path forward.

As before, lure the Crusher to Steve then kill him when instructed. Speak with Steve one last time and the quest will finish.

After that, Steve will then give you the Krakatoa Legendary Axe to thank you for all your troubles.
