The Tanto is one of the 3 weapon types that Naoe can use in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and it’s easy to get early if you know where to look.

If you really wish to fulfill the role of a kunoichi, the Tanto is your best bet. It’s a short blade which allows for fast and nimble movements. What’s more, it can be combined with the Assassins’ traditional hidden blade for executions!

In this quick guide, we’ll tell you where to get a Tanto as early as possible in the game.

Where To Find A Tanto Early | Weapon for Naoe

The easiest way to get a Tanto early in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is to purchase it. You can purchase one from the Gear Vendor in Sakai, Izumi Settsu. This is the earliest possible location for one and becomes available as soon as you get your Hideout.

Early in the game, this Gear Vendor will sell basic generic low-level Tantos. While they’re nothing special, they’re also fairly cheap and merely cost around 160 Mon. This vendor, as well as every other in the game, will start to stock rarer and more expensive gear as you level up.

Remember, vendors’ stock changes and resets every in-game season. If you didn’t find a Tanto that was good enough for you, try again later.

Alternatively, you can get the Legendary “Shinobi’s Fury” Tanto pretty early on in the main story, as well. Just focus on completing the missions to assassinate the Golden Teppo in Izumi Settsu. You’ll get the Shinobi’s Fury once you complete the final quest in that questline, “Defensive Position.”

The Shinobi’s Fury, as a Legendary Tanto, has a unique passive perk. Performing a Weak Point Attack on a Vulnerable enemy will put them in a Vulnerable state a second time. Effectively, this means you can do two consecutive Weak Point Attacks. It’s excellent for assassinating enemies before they can react!

So, there you have it, that’s where to get a Tanto early for Naoe in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Speaking of early weapons, you can also get a Legendary Long Katana for Yasuke fairly early if you know where to look. To know more, check out our guide on how to get the Loyal Traveler.

Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
