ARK Fjordur: Where And How to Get Fenrir

The release of the Fjordur DLC is something that fans of the original modded map have been waiting for for a long while. It introduces a handful of new creatures into the game, one of which is the Fenrir. This creature has a close resemblance to the Direwolf, albeit much bigger. It also has ice spikes around its back and has a face that’s somewhat similar to that of a Ravager.

You can’t normally find such a creature roaming around the Fjordur map, as it’s only available in a specific region. If you don’t know how to find one yet, then this guide is for you.

Where and How to Get Fenrir in ARK Fjordur

Compared to the Fjordur mod which allows you to get a Fenrir quite easily, the official version is actually a bit more complicated. As of now, the only way to get this creature is to beat the massive Fenrisúlfr boss. Once you managed to beat this boss, it will reward you with a cryopod containing a Fenrir with a random level.

To fight the boss, you’ll want to head over to the blue obelisk. You can find it in the snowy region of the map. Once there, interact with the terminal and choose to fight either the Gamma, Beta, or Alpha version. As with the other boss fights in the game, you’ll want to bring some powerful tames. It’s best to bring up to 30 maximum if you’re planning to take on the Fenrisúlfr boss.

As soon as you defeat the boss, loot its body for the Fenrir cryopod, then throw the cryopod to summon the Fenrir inside.
