Obtaining pets in Terraria requires you to get their summon items for them to Spawn into your world.
How you get these items vary from pet to pet. It’s usually random drops from specific types of monsters, awarded after boss battles, doing specific tasks and some can also be acquired through crafting provided you get their specific ingredients.
The latest Labor of Love content in Terraria 1.4.4 gives six new pets to acquire and in this guide, we will be showing you how to get them all.
How to Get All New Pets in Terraria 1.4.4
As we stated earlier, The 1.4.4 Update brings in 6 new pets into the game. Fans of Stardew Valley will be in for a treat since 2 of the pets are inspired by Stardew Valley, one from Project Zomboid and three Terraria originals.
Stardew Valley Pets
The Stardew Valley pets in the game are Blue Chickens and Junimo. They can be yours by obtaining their summon item in the game.
To get Junimo, you will have to get the Jojo Cola and purify it with your Dryad Companion to open up a portal to Stardew Valley where you will get the Stardrop item used to summon Junimo into your world.
The Blue Chicken pet can be summoned using the blue chicken egg which can be obtained via the Travelling Merchant.
Core Keeper Pet
To get the Core Keeper pet you will need to find the Glow Tulip. These can be found while mining for it underground.
Project Zomboid Pet
Spiffo the Flying Racoon from Project Zomboid can be summoned using the Spiffo Plush. This stuffed toy can be obtained from Zombie drops when defeating them.
Dirt Block Pet
Imagine a dirt block following behind you in your explorations. You can now do it with the Dirt Block Pet. The summon item for this is a Dirt Block and you might want to check your inventory for this one since it looks exactly the same as dirt blocks.
This pet will be very easy to obtain since all you have to do is mine dirt blocks for the summon item.
Resplendent Dessert item
The last pet you can obtain is more like an upgrade than an actual new pet. This fuses the pink and blue Slime pets already in the game into a pair using the Resplendent Dessert item from Terraria 1.4.4.
You will need both pink and blue Slimes as pets as well as the new Resplendent dessert item to Craft them into a pair.
That’s all the six new pets in Terraria 1.4.4. We also have an in-depth guide on how to get these specific pets in our library if you want more details. So go out into the world, have fun and explore all the goodies in the Labor of Love Update.
