When you’re in Raft, using a Receiver will help you find Large Islands and quests faster than blind sailing. The position of the top of the Receiver display on the raft is determined by its orientation.

To put it another way, the top position of the Receiver display is the direction the player is looking at when standing in front of it. It has nothing to do with the raft’s current direction of travel.

How to Use a Raft Receiver: Raft

When the receiver is turned on, it will display nearby points of interest as green and blue dots. Green dots represent islands, whereas blue dots represent quests that require a four-digit code to be shown.

Regardless of the distance between the rafts, blue dots are always visible. For green dots, the receiver’s scanning radius is 1250 meters, however, the dot will only appear within a viewing radius of 1000 meters.

How to Position the Receiver

Before using the Raft Receiver, you have to position the receiver.

Craft Three Antennas

The receiver at the Research Table, with the Blueprint used for research. After crafting and placing the receiver, the player must research, craft, and place three Antennas. Turning on the receiver requires a battery, continually consumed as long as you turn on the receiver. A full battery (50 charges) will be exhausted in 500 seconds, or 8 minutes and 20 seconds.

Put the Receiver on the Raft

The receiver must be put on the raft before signals may be received. In addition, it must meet several requirements before the receiver can track adjacent locations.

The Receiver Requirements

The receiver must be at least one complete ground over Foundation level. A single Pillar must be at least one-half level above or below Foundation level; all three Antennas must be on the same ground as the receiver or one-half level above or below Foundation level.

All Antennas must be at least 2 foundation lengths distant from the receiver and around 312 foundation lengths apart. Before being too far away, the antennas can be set a maximum of 10 foundation lengths away from the receiver.

How to use the receiver

You’ll need the blueprints at first, but once you’ve set up a Receiver and Antennas, finding an island shouldn’t be too difficult. Continue exploring until you see a green dot on the screen.
