Raft: How to Unlock ALL New Characters in Chapter 3

To play as one of Raft’s four unlockable characters, you must locate them on story islands. While most of them should be unlocked simply by finishing the story, you might unintentionally skip over them. From the main menu screen, you can switch between the characters you play. Apart from their appearance, the characters are all the same, and none are superior to others.

How to Unlock ALL New Characters in Chapter 3 in Raft

You must first locate new characters to unlock them. Where the character will show up is marked by a blazing yellow circle.

The character will show up once you get close and interact with it. Once you’ve spoken with them, you can play as them. It’s not required, but you are welcome to return and speak with them again later.

Unlocking New Characters

There are four new characters you can unlock as of early access, and they are:

• Tala: Early on in the game, Tala is in the Radio Tower close to the control room desk. To permanently unlock Tala as a playable character, climb up there, summon her, and then chat with her.

• Johnny: A little later in the game, Johnny is on Balboa Island. Go to the control tower, ascend to the top, then enter. The yellow circle that calls for Johnny is at the far end of the room, on a mattress.

• Elaine: Near Tangaroa Island, Elaine will be in the tower. The yellow circle can be found in one of the surrounding chairs if you enter the hatch at the top.

• Shogo: Shogo is located in the chilly New Temperance region. Make your way to the Research Reactor chamber. Until you reach the reactor room in the island’s underground complex, there is only one route to move further.

You enter a corridor with ice stalactites and stalagmites by turning left at the reactor. A room with a few freezing pods is at the end of that corridor. Interact with the yellow circle in front of the back left pod to release Shogo and add him to your cast of characters.
