If you’re like me, you might probably be frustrated by how close the field of view is in most games. This is particularly true in Minecraft.

With a lower FOV, you will end up missing a lot of stuff in your nearby surroundings simply because your field of view is limited.

With a wider FOV, you’ll be able to spot things a lot quicker. For example, you can find the Ancient City more quickly than you would with a lower FOV!

Luckily, there’s a quick fix for that, and that’s by simply changing your FOV. Alternatively, you can also lower your FOV if you find your field of view too weird to look at. Here’s how.

Before anything else, keep in mind that the settings for changing your FOV vary depending on which version of Minecraft you’re playing. We’re going to start with the Java edition first.

To change your FOV, simply head to the menu and go to the Options section. There, you should find a slider for the FOV at the upper left corner of the screen as shown in the image above.

All you have to do is adjust the slider to whatever value you want. After that, simply click Done and you should be able to see the changes right away.

The lowest value is at 30 while the lowest is at 110, otherwise known as Quake Pro.

However, keep in mind that the higher the FOV, the more demanding the game will be. In some cases, you might experience lags or even crashes when playing the game.

As mentioned, the settings in the Bedrock Edition are a bit different. For this one, you’ll have to adjust the slider using your controller.

To do so, head to the menu and go to the Game Settings section. Choose Video, and you should be able to find the FOV slider right away.

All you have to do is adjust it using your controller, or if you’re playing on a touchscreen device, simply drag it with your fingers.
