Cooking is an essential component of Dinkum. To cook, you must first gather your ingredients. Sugar and flour are two of them, and they appear in many Dinkum recipes.
However, unlike most crops, you can’t really harvest them directly. Instead, you need to process it from certain materials. Here’s how.
How to Make Flour and Sugar in Dinkum

Later on in Dinkum, the mill machine becomes a valuable asset because it can produce a variety of useful resources for you to use on your farm. You need to earn 250 permit points by completing milestones to unlock the Grain Milling Machine.
Once you’ve accumulated enough permit points, speak with Fletch during regular Town Hall business hours and select “I want to apply for a License,” then scroll down to Farming License and select it.
You will be given the blueprint/recipe for the Grain Mill once you have purchased the Level 1 Farming License.
Making Flour and Sugar

Once you have a milling machine, you can now make flour and sugar! Naturally, you need Wheat and Sugar Cane to make these two ingredients.
Sugar cane is obtained by buying the seeds from Rayne, whether she is merely visiting or residing on your island. One stalk of Sugar Cane can be inserted into your mill equipment to produce one bag of Sugar, and it can be farmed all year round.
Stocking up on sugar in advance is always advantageous because it is utilized in a wide variety of cooking methods. If you don’t yet have a cooking surface, you can get a +5 energy point increase by simply eating a bag of sugar.
One of the most crucial crops that players must use is Wheat. Four pieces of Wheat will yield one bag of Flour in your mill machine. In Dinkum, Flour is a valuable resource because it is essential to several recipes with high stats.

Even in the game, using it to make plain bread can be very beneficial because it only takes three bags of flour to make one loaf, which will restore 35 health and 25 energy.
Since Wheat requires four crops for every bag of Flour while Sugar only needs one Sugar Cane per bag, you’ll usually consume Wheat much faster. As such, planting a larger Wheat field can help you maintain a steady supply of ingredients.
