This mode essentially works like the “Depths of the Illusive Realm.” Go through a set of randomized encounters to earn Illusive Points and other rewards. The better you do, the more points you get. Get all 6000 Illusive Points every week to get loads of rewards, including Astrite!
In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know to make the most of the “Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways” in Wuthering Waves. Read on so you don’t miss out on the rewards!
Everything You Need To Know About “Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways” | Wuthering Waves 2.1
How to Unlock
The “Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways” game mode becomes available once you meet the following conditions:
Reach Union Level 30.
Complete the Chapter II Act I main quest: “The Sacred Breeze So Often Breathes.”
Activate the Resonance Nexus at Rinascita City. You’ll do this naturally during the Chapter II story.
Once you meet these requirements, you’ll get the “Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways” side quest. This is a tutorial quest, so you can just track it and follow the instructions in-game to get a basic tutorial of this new game mode. You’ll also then be able to play the game mode freely after completing the quest!
How to Start and Play
The “Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways” mode in Wuthering Waves is actually very simple. Once you complete the tutorial, you can interact with the red gateway in Rinascita to play this mode whenever you wish. You can also automatically warp there by selecting “Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways” under the Recurring Challenges menu.
First, you’ll need to form a team of up to 3 Resonators. It’s important to keep in mind that there will be a few Dreamscape Aid Resonators chosen every week. For example, the current week has Phoebe, Jihnsi, Shorekeeper, and Verina. Placing these Resonators in your team will allow you to earn 150% more Illusive Points. They’ll have a tag saying “Points x150%” on them, as shown above.
While assembling your team, note that there will also be certain special Dreamscape Aid effects applied. These change every week, just like the Dreamscape Aid Resonators. For example, one of the Dreamscape Aids right now gives all Resonators a 30% Spectro DMG Bonus.
Also note that, unlike the Illusive Realm, there are no Trial Resonators. You can only select Resonators you have unlocked. However, using Dreamscape Aids and Dreamscape Aid Resonators isn’t really mandatory. It’ll just help you reach the weekly cap of 6000 Illusive Points more easily.
Lastly, it’s also worth noting that you’ll unlock higher difficulties as you increase your SOL3 Phase. Higher difficulties have tougher enemies but also reward you with more Illusive Points.
Progressing through the Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways
This challenge mode works similarly to games in the action roguelite genre and the “Depths of the Illusive Relam” mode, essentially. Once you’ve picked out your team and started the challenge, you’ll be thrown into an arena with a randomized group of enemies.
Defeat the enemies and a creature will appear to allow you to select 1 out of 3 different random Metaphors. These Metaphors give you special effects, such as allowing your Basic attacks to summon fireballs for extra damage. Make sure to read what each Metaphor does and pick the one that best fits your Resonators and playstyle!
When you’re done selecting a Metaphor, interact with one of the open doors in the arena to proceed to the next zone. Most doors will just lead you to different battles. However, you’ll periodically get a Memory of Rest door instead. Keep an eye out for it, as it will allow you to enter a special room where you can heal your Resonators!
In total, there are 13 zones for you to go through in sequence. Which zones you get is somewhat random, both in the type of zone and the enemies within. However, what’s guaranteed is that you will face an extra powerful Tacet Discord boss on Zone 7 and Zone 13.
Defeating these bosses will allow you to claim rewards from Remnant Crystals at the cost of 60 Waveplates. You can also get double the rewards for 120 Waveplates, instead.
These rewards mainly include Unborn Echoes, Premium Sealed Tubes, Premium Tuners, and Shell Credits. Unborn Echoes are the main attraction here, as you can use them to get random Echoes of any category you specify!
Make Use of the Lucid Dream State
Lucid Dream is one of your best tools to help you complete the “Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways” challenge mode in Wuthering Waves. You can find it in the top left corner of the screen. This works somewhat like an ultimate ability. Charge it up by dealing damage to enemies and then use it when it’s ready.
After activating it, you will be in the Lucid Dream state for 10 seconds. This will trigger various powerful buffs depending on the week’s Dreamscape Aids and your selection of Metaphors. Due to that, its efficiency will vary every week and every run. Nonetheless, there’s never a reason not to use it and it will always give you a large boon.
Do note that the Lucid Dream charge is kept between different zones. As such, it’s a good idea to try saving it if you’re approaching one of the boss zones!
Rewards
Finally, let’s go over the rewards you can expect to get from the “Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways” in Wuthering Waves. As we’ve mentioned before, you’ll earn Illusive Points as you clear zones during the challenge. The higher the difficulty and the more zones you clear during the run, the more Illusive Points you get. You can get up to 6000 Illusive Points per week. It’s possible to get them all in a single successful run in higher difficulties, especially if you bring Dreamscape Aid Resonators.
Just like everything else about this mode, the rewards will reset every week. However, it’s unknown if the rewards will be the same every single week or if they will change. Nonetheless, that’s the end of our guide! That’s everything you need to know to make the most of the new “Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways” weekly mode in Wuthering Waves.
