Which Free 1.0 Units is Worth Investing in Zenless Zone Zero?

Choosing an agent to invest in is one of the hardest choices of a gacha game!

Spending your resources in the right place is very important for staying free to play in a gacha game like Zenless Zone Zero. This means choosing a character that will be worth it in the long run.

To help you out with that, I will discuss all the F2P agents and tell you which agents are worth the investment and which ones to avoid. Let’s get started!

Which F2P Agents to Invest In?

To make it easier to understand, I have made a tier list that is based on a character’s worth from a long term investment point of view.

The S tier consists of agents that I recommend investing in. A tier agents are also pretty good and worth the investment. And I suggest you avoid investing in B tier agents for the time being. You will find the tier list below:

Breakdown of the Tier List

You will notice that most agents are placed in the A tier and the reason for this is that almost all agents in the game right now are good and worth going for.

Other than that, keep in mind that your opinions will probably differ which is totally fine. Following is the breakdown of each tier and the reasoning behind it:

S Tier

S Tier
  • Nekomiya Mana
    • Nekomata has very good mobility and damage. The thing that puts her in the S tier is her dodge counter.
    • Her dodge counter is very fast and deals a ton of damage. On top of that, you can execute it multiple times in succession.
    • If you invest in Nekomata, she will carry you throughout most of the game without much problems.
  • Ben Bigger
    • Ben’s defense is also his weapon. He has some insane multipliers which allows him to deal massive amounts of damage to the enemies.
    • If you build him right, he is definitely worth the investment.

A Tier

  • Soukaku
    • Soukaku has attack and critical rate buffs which are universal in nature. This makes Soukaku a pretty good character and worth investing in.
    • She will be even better when her next faction member (Hoshimi Miyabi) comes out.
  • Von Lycaon
    • Lycaon is pretty efficient in building up the daze meter and stunning enemies. But his damage output falls short which is why he is not in the S tier.
    • He is definitely worth investing in if you decide to draw Ellen Joe as they make a very good team.
  • Alexandrina Sebastiane
    • The PEN buff offered by Rina is very nice but her Electric buff is kind of limited as it only applies to agents having the electric attribute.
    • And right now, there aren’t any electric agents out there that can take huge advantage of this buff. Due to this reason, she falls short of the S tier.
  • Soldier 11
    • Performance of Soldier 11 on the field will actually depend on the player. You need to have good rhythm and timing to properly use Soldier 11.
    • In the hands of a good player, she is actually worth S tier. But in the hands of a player who is not good in controlling her, then she can be considered a B tier.
  • Billy Kid
    • Billy is overall a pretty balanced character and easy to use because of his long ranged attacks.
    • But he does not have anything particularly special that can put him in S tier.
  • Nicole Demara
    • Nicole’s specialty is in her energy field which is capable of sucking enemies to the center.
    • But the downside with that is it can only be used on small enemies. It will not work on elite enemies or bosses and for that reason she can not be placed in the S tier.
  • Anby Demara
    • Anby is similar to Lycaon and is good at building up the daze meter and stunning enemies.
    • The only downside to her is that most of her attacks do not inflict electrical damage.
    • If her attacks took more advantage of her electric attribute, she would be worthy of S tier.
  • Anton Ivanov
    • Anton is kind of similar to Corrin in terms of attacking. But he has one major advantage over Corrin due to his talent which places him in the A tier.
    • When Anton uses his Ultimate or unleashes a Combo, all members on the team receive a critical rate buff for 15 seconds.
  • Grace Howard
    • Grace specializes in anomaly. She is able to build up anomaly on an enemy pretty fast.
    • Currently anomaly is not that popular in the game as she is the only character with this specialty. Piper Wheel is the next anomaly character who will be coming to the game so let’s see how that fares in the future.

B Tier

  • Koleda Belobog
    • Koleda is an awesome character when paired with Ben. But on her own, she is not that special which is why she is placed in the B tier.
    • If you decide to get Ben then Koleda is worth getting as well but other than that, it is better to avoid her.
  • Corrin Wickes
    • Corrin is capable of dealing a decent amount of damage. But to do so, she needs to consistently attack and rack up damage which is kind of hard to do when you constantly get interrupted by enemy attacks.
    • For this reason, she is not worth investing in for now.
