The valley battle that takes place after Leon and Luis wake up chained together in a shack is intense. Once you are out of the shack, that is when the action begins.

Do note that Luis escapes after the chain breaks off, so you are left to fend for yourself against the infected villagers.

The villagers are infected with Las Plagas, and they swarm around the village. This guide will help you deal with this part.

Since you’re doing this mission solo, there are a couple of things to survive the valley and make it out of it. Here are some tips we can offer:

Buy Stuff from the Merchant

Weirdly, the Merchant is your only ally at this stage. As you scour the area and collect enough collectibles from the map, you can then sell those items to the merchant in exchange for Pesetas which you can then use to buy new weapons or upgrade your current ones!

Upgrade your guns if you already have enough currency. You can also buy health spray from his shop.

Sell used keys to earn some extra Ptas. You can also find ammo near one of the crates. Take your time at the merchant’s shack.

Upgrade the weapons you will need and use the most and buy the ones that will inflict heavy damage.

Use the Right Weapons

You will need to find two pieces of the Hexagonal Emblem from the valley so that you can escape from the area. You’ll be using one of them on the hexagonal slot in a gate.

There is no point in playing stealth in this stage as you must go through the infected villagers anyway.

Be nimble on your feet and switch weapons quickly. If you try to rush through the villagers, then you will end up exhausting your ammo.

Let the villagers come to you and try to take headshots with either your rifle or shotgun.

Don’t exhaust a full clip on the infected. Try taking a headshot so you can stun them and then kick them to the ground.

Be Patient and Use Your Surroundings

Patience is key when looking for the emblems and ultimately escaping the valley. Also, if you move around and scour the area properly, then you will find rare collectibles like Ruby and Health Spray from the houses.

Use your surroundings when faced with infected villagers. Use the oil drums to blow them up and houses to hide and bide your time before recovering and moving forward.

Dodge Attacks

The infected villagers don’t just rush toward you and attack. Some will throw axes at you from a distance. You need to dodge them to avoid taking a lot of damage.

When the villagers attack in close combat, dodge or deflect their strikes to use counterattack. Deflecting their strikes will give you enough time to mount your own counterattacks. Stay alert from their attacks because in close combat too they will attack with axes and rakes.

Finally, find the two hexagonal emblems and escape the valley!
