With the recent launch of the huge new Invaders of Oakveil patch, V Rising has gotten a wide range of new enemies, bosses, base structures, a completely risk free duel mechanic, a handful of weapons, spells, and many more. In this guide, we will go over the daggers and claws and how you can take advantage of them in PVP, which of course will not be relevant if you only play on PVE servers.
V Rising 1.1 – Claws & Daggers Solo Weapon PVP Guide
The latest update of V Rising, which is essentially an entire expansion pack for free, adds the claws and throwing daggers to the list of weapons that you can craft and use. They are both pretty good weapons for PVP players, so let us go over a quick rundown of what they can do.
First, the claws require constant pressure as they need you to run straight into your enemy’s face and constantly throw out melee combos to be effective. Even without carrying a secondary weapon, the claws are already a solid option for PVP.
Rogue blood or a mix that infuses Rogue bonuses into Brute for extra tankiness is ideal to maximize your damage output and speed, which the claws will be able to take full advantage of.
Soulburn with this build lets you cancel enemy spells and heal yourself if necessary. Veil of Blood as your dash ability helps with additional leeching effects as well. If you need more, consider using spells like Blood Rite if necessary.
Some unholy magic spells might work well with it as well, but your mileage may vary depending on the type of claws you have.
The throwing daggers, on the other hand, are a set of ranged weapons that are likely more appealing to players who have a defensive playstyle. It needs you to maintain distance most of the time, but you will also need a way to close the gap for a brief moment.
This is due to how its abilities leave daggers stuck on the ground for multiple seconds. With the Release Daggers skill, every dagger within range will fly back towards your current position. This means that you can deal a lot of burst damage with a well-placed release.
A mix of Warrior blood infused with Rogue bonuses might perform well with this weapon. This makes your skills much more potent, and depending on your legendary weapon and playstyle, illusion or frost magic can be your main choice in spells.
Again, your goal with this weapon is to keep your distance as much as possible. If your opponent is playing a melee build, you will have to keep widening the gap as you attack them. Ideally, they should not be able to even touch you for the most part.
You could also opt to play a more aggressive style by pairing it with an axe, but it is perfectly usable as a solo weapon if you so desire. Just know that it typically performs better with a more passive style if used on its own.
And those are some of the things you can keep in mind as you experiment with these two new weapons in a PVP server. There are various combinations you can try that might work much better than simply camping a single weapon, so feel free to experiment with them on your own time.
