A minor choice during the “The Tea Ceremony” main quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows will require you to remember the correct etiquette for turning a tea bowl before drinking.
This is essentially a bit of a “quiz” choice. You were trained about proper etiquette earlier during the questline. This choice just wants to see if you were paying attention to the training!
In this short guide, we’ll tell the correct answer to this choice and its potential outcomes.
Turning The Bowl – The Tea Ceremony Choice Guide | Assassin’s Creed Shadows
As we mentioned in our introduction, you’ll get the choice to turn a bowl of tea as part of the “The Tea Ceremony” main quest. Around the halfway point, Naoe will participate in a tea ceremony with Master Sokyu. At this point, you have to try to remember proper etiquette for turning the bowl before drinking.
The correct answer here is to select “Turn the bowl right twice.” Remember, earlier in this questline you met Sen no Rikyu as part of the “The Perfect Gift” quest. He told Naoe that turning the bowl to the right twice was the proper etiquette. You can tell that you picked right because Naoe smiles as she drinks the tea and Sokyu gives an approving nod.
Selecting to turn the bowl left or not turning it at all will result in Master Sokyu giving a disapproving look at Naoe. Naoe also seems to look a bit lost as she looks at the bowl.
Now, this is a minor choice and has no large effect on the mission or the story. It merely changes Naoe’s and Sokyu’s reactions during the scene. Either way, the mission will continue with the guests offering their gifts to Master Sokyu.
Ultimately, this is a minor choice that is mostly for flavor. There are other such choices in the game, such as the “You know a lot” vs “You know nothing” choice during the “Friend of My Enemy” main quest. But well, at least now you know what happens depending on your choices!
