If you’ve made it all the way to the endgame of The Adventures of Elliot, then congrats. After all, getting to the end of the journey is quite challenging, with all those dungeons and enemies that you have to defeat.

Unfortunately, you can’t just rest easy yet, as the game saves its toughest challenge for last. Specifically, I’m talking about Demise the Destroyer, which happens to be the game’s final boss.

Needless to say, it’s a really tough challenge, so much so that a lot of players consider him to be the hardest in the entire game. Which is why this guide on how to beat the final boss of the game was created to help you out.

Let’s get started.

How to Beat Demise the Destroyer in The Adventures of Elliot

How to Beat Demise the Destroyer in The Adventures of Elliot

Before anything else, you should first know that you can’t encounter Demise the Destroyer in a normal playthrough. Instead, you need to do a specific action for him to even appear.

That’s because the boss is part of the True Ending. This is something you can only unlock by completing a series of objectives that lead all the way to an encounter with the Beast of Enmity.

However, once you encounter the Beast of Enmity, you should avoid attacking it directly. Instead, you have to equip the Amber Pendant and Mao’s Pendant, then defend against its attacks.

Only then will you unlock the fight against Demise the Destroyer.

Preparing Before the Final Fight

I highly advise against fighting Demise unprepared. Unlike the earlier bosses you’ve defeated, Demise is on a completely different level. It heavily punishes underleveled characters and poorly optimized builds.

So, before you even enter the Northern Tower, make sure you’ve completed as many side quests as possible. Upgrade your character, equip powerful gear, use the right Magicite enchantments, and wear the right accessories.

If you’re struggling, you might want to revisit earlier areas to collect missing upgrades and complete side quests.

Taking a Look at Demise’s Attack Patterns

Demise First Phase The Adventures of Elliot

The Demise fight consists of two phases.

During the first phase, you’ll be fighting him while on top of a phoenix. This one is a bit easier as you can use the phoenix to dish out damage and deplete his health bar quickly. Moreover, most of Demise’s attacks are telegraphed.

It’s when you get to the second phase that things start getting challenging.

Demise Second Phase The Adventures of Elliot

In the second phase, Demise will have a shield. You want to break that shield as quickly as possible using powerful combos and attacks. Also worth noting is that Demise’s attacks hit hard. Therefore, executing a perfect guard with items like the Moon Mirror is crucial to survive.

Since most of his attacks are telegraphed, make sure to guard to reduce the damage you receive as much as possible.

Once you have a window to attack, use your most powerful attacks as well as your copy to keep attacking Demise until you deplete his HP.

Demise Defeat The Adventures of Elliot

This might take a bit of time depending on your gear. However, you should be able to take down Demise using this strategy.

A cutscene will then play, though you won’t be able to unlock the True Ending just yet. There are still some requirements that you need to fulfill beforehand.

Final Thoughts

As you can see, Demise the Destroyer is quite challenging, which is truly fitting for the title of the final boss in The Adventures of Elliot. While most of his attacks are clearly telegraphed, they do hit like a truck, causing you to fail if you get hit.

But as long as you’ve prepared before the fight and have powerful items equipped, you should be able to take down this game’s hardest boss.
