There are multiple endings in The Adventures of Elliot. However, once you reach the final chapters of the game, you’ll find out that unlocking all of them isn’t as easy as simply defeating the final boss.
After all, the game has three different endings, and each of them has its own requirements, associated achievements, and conclusions to Elliot’s journey. Also, the decisions you make during the final chapters of the game will determine the ending you get.
So, how exactly do you get all endings in the game?
Unlocking All Three Endings in The Adventures of Elliot
As usual, you need to use the save scum method and create a backup save in order to unlock all three endings in a single playthrough. With that out of the way, let’s look at all three endings and how to get them.
NOTE: Things will be riddled with spoilers at this point; you’ve been warned.
Bad Ending

The bad ending is, as the name implies, the ending where things didn’t get a satisfactory conclusion. It’s pretty much the result of rushing things and not completing extra quests or preparing anything.
All you have to do is follow the hints given to you by the game, and you’ll eventually get the bad ending as a result.

To get this, simply fight the boss known as the Beast of Enmity in the Northern Tower during the Age of Safekeeping. However, you should not use the Leytstaf Sword’s fully charged Level 4 Mystic Seal attack.
After killing the final boss and a few cutscenes, you then return to the castle to find that Princess Heuria is no longer trapped in ice. Unfortunately, she remains asleep as the curse hasn’t actually been lifted.
The king will then ask you to find a way to save the princess, and you’ll also get a hint in the credits that there are other endings available.
At the same time, you’ll get the “As Long as Any Hope Remains” achievement.
Good Ending

The standard ending is what most players consider to be the “good” ending. However, it’s actually not the true conclusion to Elliot’s journey.
To unlock it, you need to obtain the Leytstaf Sword by heading to the water ruins in the Age of Reconstruction. Once you have the sword, you need to look for three sages to obtain the Mystic Seal.

With the Leytstaf Sword and Mystic Seal in hand, head to the Northern Tower and confront the Beast of Enmity.
Once the boss is nearly defeated, make sure to use the fully charged Mystic Seal as the finishing blow. As long as you get it right, you should be able to unlock the good ending of the game. At the same time, you’ll also unlock the achievement “The Peace in Which We Walk”.

This ending provides a far more satisfying conclusion than the bad ending and answers several major story questions. Princess Heuria has her curse lifted, the Beast of Enmity is sealed, and Elliot gets married to the princess.
After the credits roll, you’ll then be greeted with another ominous note indicating that the hidden truth is still there. That would be your cue to unlock the game’s true ending.
True Ending

Unlike the previous two endings, the true ending is what the developers had in mind. It’s essentially the definitive conclusion to Elliot’s journey. However, unlocking it requires more work.
Before you challenge the final boss, you first need to complete additional story events across multiple ages. Aside from that, you also need to collect important key items, including Mao’s Pendant and the Amber Pendant.
Both items are tied directly to the true ending requirements.
Another requirement involves collecting the game’s collectible cats. I’m not exactly sure how many are required, but you should get at least 35 cats. Once you’ve met all of the requirements, head back to the final battle.

Now this is where things become unusual.
Instead of defeating the boss normally, you must focus on defending yourself from its attacks. During the fight, successfully perform three perfect guards against the boss’s attacks. Make sure you’re wearing the Amber Pendant as well.
After performing three perfect guards, a cutscene will then follow. Once the cutscene is over, follow the quest marker to fight the true final boss.

This time, you will be up against Demise, the Destroyer. If you manage to defeat the boss, you will then unlock the game’s true ending. At the same time, you’ll receive the “At the Thousand-Year Journey’s End” achievement.
There’s still a bit more content even after you have completed the three endings in The Adventures of Elliot. After that, the credits will then roll.
