Weapons in The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales do not upgrade like in most games. Every tier is a separate item tucked away in shops, side quests and dungeon chests scattered across all four Ages. With six weapon types each climbing through three tiers, plus bombs sitting outside that ladder, there are 19 pieces of kit to track down, and a fair number are easy to walk straight past during normal story progression.
The good news is that none of this is locked behind grinding. You can freely swap between any version you have already found from the Items menu. In this guide I will walk you through where to find every weapon and upgrade across all four Ages.
Location of Every Single Weapon In The Game
Before getting into the actual locations, it is worth knowing that there is a built in way to find every weapon naturally as you progress through the story.
Completing the main story quest called “A Shield Restored” will reward you with the Magic Compass. This immediately marks the location of every 1-star base level weapon on your map, so you genuinely cannot miss those once it is in your possession.
Once you have the Magic Compass, a handful of new side quests open up, and one of them is “Calotesia’s History Lesson“. You can pick this one up by speaking to Calotesia inside Calotesia’s Lab in Littlehope Village during the Age of Reconstruction.
Completing it rewards you with the Better-Weapon Needle, which then starts revealing 2-star weapons on your map as well.
The Best-Weapon Needle, which reveals every 3-star weapon on the map, is a much later pickup and effectively an endgame tool. It can be found in the Northern Tower during the Age of Safekeeping, so do not expect to have it anywhere near as early as the other two needles. However, you can still find 3-star tier weapons before acquiring the Best-Weapon Needle.
Longsword – One-Star Sword
This is your starting weapon and Elliot begins the game with it already equipped, so there is nothing extra you need to do to get it.
Spin Back – One-Star Boomerang
This one can be purchased directly from the Item Shop during the Age of Safekeeping.
Short Bow – One-Star Bow
You can get this by completing the early game side quest called “A Good Old Bow“, which is given to you by Leyka at the Orphanage.
Sapling Spear – One-Star Spear
This is obtained by completing the side quest “A Spear with a Past“, which Euygene gives you in the Kingdom of Huther.
Bombs
Bombs are acquired naturally as you progress through the main story and are used primarily to blow up walls and debris blocking your path. Unlike the other weapons, Bombs do not have any tiers and remain the same throughout the game.
Heavy Hammer – One-Star Hammer
You can find this inside a red chest after defeating the Rathomobile boss at the Southern Caves – Desert Exit during the Age of Reconstruction.
Scythe Chain – One-Star Chain and Sickle
This is found inside a red chest on the first floor of the Rainbow Lotus during the Age of Safekeeping, while following the main story.
Dusk Sword – Two-Star Sword
This weapon can be found inside the Doorway Ruins dungeon in the Age of Reconstruction, which you are taken to naturally as part of the main story. I have marked its exact location on the map in the image below as well.

However the sword itself is sitting inside a red chest that is only accessible by solving an optional puzzle within the dungeon. It is entirely possible to walk through the main story path without ever stumbling onto it, so make sure you take the time to look around and work through the puzzle.

Strike Back – Two-Star Boomerang
This one can be purchased directly from the Item Shop during the Age of Magic.
Catalpa Bow – Two-Star Bow
The Catalpa Bow can be found inside a large red chest in the Eastern Caves, located just east of the town of Whiterea. I have marked the exact location in the image below. You can pick this one up during the Age of Reconstruction.

There is a gap you need to cross to actually reach the chest, so make sure you have the Phase warp skill or the Flutterer’s Cape equipped, both of which let you clear the distance. The Flutterer’s Cape is available for purchase back in the Age of Safekeeping if you have not picked it up yet.

Silver Spear – Two-Star Spear
You can get this from a red chest inside the Western Caves, which becomes accessible once you progress far enough through the main story. I have marked its exact location on the map below.

Once you are inside the dungeon, continue forward along the main path until you reach a point where you need to climb up. Right there you will spot a nook to the left. Go through it and you will reach the chest as shown below.

Black Iron – Two-Star Hammer
You can find this inside the Doorway Ruins dungeon during the Age of Magic, which I have marked on the map below.

To actually reach the chest, you will need the Vacuum ability. Use it to move the orb located nearby, which opens the gate leading to the chest, as shown in the image below.

Orochi – Two-Star Chain and Sickle
This can be found inside the Secret Caves located in Whiterea. Head to the entrance which I have marked on the map below and make your way inside.

Once you are in, simply use a bomb on the boulder blocking the path ahead to break it open and clear the way to the red chest. With the path cleared, walk up to the chest and collect the weapon waiting inside.

Leytstaf – Three-Star Sword
You can obtain this from a red chest in the Water Ruins, which I have marked on the map below. To actually access it though, you need to progress through Mount Phoenix during the Age of Budding, which sits right near the very end of the game.

Death Spiral – Three-Star Boomerang
You can find this inside the Dragonpillar cave on sublevel one in the Age of Budding, which I have marked in the map given below.

To actually reach the red chest containing it, you need to solve a fairly simple puzzle using the Copy ability. The puzzle is not too demanding once you have the ability unlocked, and I have shown exactly how to solve it in the image below.

Devil’s Gut – Three-Star Bow
You can grab this bow from a red chest sitting at the end of the Forest Ruins during the Age of Magic, but it only becomes accessible after defeating the boss guarding the dungeon. Make sure you head in fully prepared with healing items and a solid loadout before attempting the fight. I have marked its exact location on the map given below.

Winnehild – Three-Star Spear
To get the Winnehild, you first need the Dive ability, which you can obtain from the Water Ruins during the Age of Reconstruction.
Once you have it, head over to the Falls Caves in the Age of Magic, which I have marked on the map below. Be ready to take on a boss fight here as well before you can claim the reward. After defeating the boss and clearing the rest of the dungeon, you can pick up the spear from a red chest waiting at the end.
Judgement – Three-Star Hammer
You can get this hammer from the Geared Ruins on the second level during the Age of Magic. I have marked its exact location on the map given below.
However, unlocking the passage through these ruins is not as simple as just walking in. You first need to obtain two keys, Wynat’s Key and Boyne’s Key, both of which are tied to a quest connected to the true ending.
Once you are tasked with the main endgame boss during the Age of Safekeeping, head over to the Age of Budding to pick up an unmarked quest. This quest tasks you with tracking down three cats hiding across different Ages.
Visiting the cat guy for each respective Age will reveal which ruins his cat is hiding in. You need to find two of these three cats specifically to receive the keys needed to open the gate inside the Geared Ruins and finally reach the chest holding this hammer.
Ouroboros – Three-Star Chain and Sickle
You can obtain this from the Fire Ruins once you reach the Age of Budding. You will need to defeat the boss guarding the dungeon and clear through the rest of it before you can claim it from the red chest.
That’s It
That covers every weapon and upgrade location across all four Ages in The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales. A few of these require real effort to track down, especially the ones locked behind specific abilities or the cat quest. But having the full set in your back pocket makes the harder fights later in the game considerably easier to handle.
