“Surprise” is a secret achievement available inthe demo for TEVI. It can’t be achieved in the full game, however, only the demo.
You’ll get it if you surprise Vena by appearing behind her, which requires some tricky sequence-breaking to do!
In this short guide, we’ll tell you how to spook poor Vena by appearing where you shouldn’t.
How to Get the “Surprise” Secret Achievement in TEVI’s Demo
As stated in the introduction, the “Surprise” achievement can only be acquired in the demo. You’ll also need to start a new save in the demo if you’ve already met Vena normally.
To get the achievement, you have to reach the ledge where Vena is standing by approaching her from behind. This might seem impossible, but such is the charm of TEVI! This game is full of secret paths to find.
First, you’ll want to play the demo’s tutorial normally until you acquire the Cross Bomb.
There’s only one path available until you get the Cross Bomb, but you can refer to the map above for its location if you need it.
After getting the Cross Bomb, exit to your left to find the Save Point. You can save if you want, of course.
Then, proceed to the room left of the save point. You’ll notice a small hole covered by squares inside this room, drop your Cross Bomb on top of them to break them.
Drop down the hole and you’ll be in a large room with a single Vulture enemy. This is where things get tricky!
Your goal here is to use the Quickdrop (hold down and press Jump in mid-air) ability to hit the Vulture, which will cause Tevi to bounce and get some extra air time.
Use the extra air time to reach the ledge we’ve marked in the image above. If you accidentally kill the Vulture, leave the room and return to make it respawn.
Once you reach the ledge, take the hidden exit to the right and you’ll appear right behind Vena!
A small event will play out and you’ll get the “Surprise” achievement.
