It’s a fairly safe zone, without too many hostiles, and also has a decent amount of loot. It’s also home to the Doctor, who is one of the most useful NPCs you can currently meet in the game! Who doesn’t need to heal up, right?
In this guide, I’ll tell you everything you need to know about the School in this game.
How to Get to the School
Let’s start with how exactly to get to the School, starting from your default Cabin in Village (Area 05). It’s easiest to reach by taking the leftmost exit out of the Village (Area 05) zone. The exit looks like the example above.

Road to Vostok Fishing GuideApr 9, 2026If you follow this method, you’ll likely pass by the Highway (Area 05) exit first. Just ignore it and continue hugging the area limit until you reach the spot shown above.
School Map | The Lay of the Land
Now that you’re at the School in Area 05, you can explore it to your heart’s content. You can use the map shown above to help you get an idea of what the zone’s layout is.
The most notable part of the School is the main building itself, which is right in the center of the zone. You can reach it by just going straight forward across the bridge when coming from the Village.
Now, in my experience, I’ve noticed that this zone is very safe and has very few hostiles. However, most of them do like to hide out in the main school building. So, watch your corners as you enter the building, don’t let them flank you.
Conversely, the School building is also where I’ve found most worthwhile loot. There are dozens of lockers and other containers for you to loot, though the classrooms themselves usually don’t have much.
Key Places in the School Zone
One of the first notable places you might come across is the Gymnasium within the school. It’s locked, but it usually has some worthwhile loot inside! If you want to get in, check out our guide on the Gym Key.
Another notable thing here is the infirmary. You can find it on the top floor of the main school building. It’s one of the open rooms close to the stairs, shown above.
If you’re at the School on day 2 or later, you’ll be able to find the Doctor NPC at the infirmary. You can trade with him for medical supplies or complete tasks for other goodies. Definitely worth checking out!
You can also find the Classroom Shelter next to the infirmary. Much like the Gymnasium, though, it requires a key. You can get the Classroom Key by completing tasks for the Doctor.
Aside from the main school building, you can also find a large field close to the school. In my experience, there isn’t a lot of loot there, mostly dead bandits. You might be luckier, though!
Do note there’s usually at least 1 hostile hanging out near the stadium, so stick to cover while checking it out. Bandits will try to shoot you from across the field if they spot you!
Aside from that, there are some smaller buildings on the edges of the zone. Personally, I can’t say I ever found anything worthwhile there. But, as always, I might just have had terrible luck! You might fare better.
