The Shark Bait is a tool in Raft that you use to distract a Shark for a short period of time. However, it can be a bit confusing as to how you can use it for the first time.
The Shark Bait is an item that you can access at the start of the game. As the name implies, it’s a bait you use for sharks, but not for the purpose of catching them. Instead, you use the Shark Bait to occupy a shark for a short period.
If you don’t know how to use it, this guide will help you.
How to Use Shark Bait in Raft
You can craft a Shark Bait using two ropes and either 2 Raw Herrings or 2 Pomfrets. You can also use one of each. When you throw the Shark Bait to the water, it will distract a shark for a short duration which is affected by its health points.
A Shark Bait has a total of 800 HP, and its health lowers each time a shark chomps on it. It will break after reaching 0 HP, causing the shark to go back to its normal patterns. However, this will depend on the Game Mode you’re playing on.
On Peaceful Mode, a Shark Bait is practically useless as a shark won’t even attack it. in Hard Mode, however, multiple sharks might attack the bait all at once. This means the bait will get destroyed pretty quickly in Hard Mode. Luckily, the bait has a higher HP in Hard Mode to compensate for this.
To use a Shark Bait, you simply have to place it in one of your hotbar slots. Then, press its specified hotkey to throw the bait into the ocean. Once it manages to occupy a shark, you can then freely dive deep into the water.
