Echo Amoxliatl is the one Echo boss that every single player in OSRS Leagues 6 has access to from the start, regardless of which regions they unlock. She is found in the Ruins of Tapoyauik in Varlamore after completing the Heart of Darkness quest. Her unique drop is the Infernal Tecpatl. It has a drop rate of 1 in 30, and if you hit 60 kills without seeing one, it becomes a guaranteed drop.
To access the Echo version you first need to farm the regular Amoxliatl until she drops the Varlamore Echo Orb. It has a drop rate of 1 in 40. The fight has a few mechanics you need to know before going in though, particularly around her prayer disabling attacks and the AOE pools she leaves on the ground. In this guide, I will cover everything you need to know about the fight to take her down.
Best Way to Defeat Echo Amoxliatl
The Echo Amoxliatl fight plays out in a similar fashion to her normal counterpart. For gear, bring your best melee setup or whatever you used to take down the standard version. You do not need to bring a huge stack of food either since this fight is almost entirely based on movement timing and prayer management rather than tanking through damage.
What you absolutely must have actively going into this fight is Protect from Magic. It is not optional. Echo Amoxliatl fires rapid magic based auto attacks throughout the entire fight and Protect from Magic negates them completely. Letting it drop even for a second will hurt.
One extra thing worth mentioning is that if you have the Thorns effect available through your Demonic Pacts, it is well worth speccing into it before this fight. It will passively deal additional damage back to Amoxliatl every time she hits you, which adds up nicely over the course of the kill and can shave a decent amount of time off each run.

Taking Down Echo Amoxliatl
Echo Amoxliatl has three phases in total. With each phase her attack speed increases, which is what makes the later stages of the fight more demanding. Before you even engage her, make sure Protect from Magic is active.
The core movement pattern you need to follow throughout the entire fight is straightforward. Attack the boss. Then immediately move one tile to the left. Attack again. Then move just before her projectile lands on your tile. You repeat this loop continuously from the start of the fight all the way to the end. Here is a breakdown of each phase:
First Phase
In her first phase, Echo Amoxliatl’s attacks are slow and relatively easy to avoid. Just keep attacking and moving one tile away each time before her projectile lands. Stay consistent with the movement pattern and this phase should feel very manageable. It lasts until she reaches approximately 500 HP.
Second Phase
When her HP drops to around 500, Echo Amoxliatl will disable all your active prayers. She will then target a circular 3×3 area around the tile you are standing on. After a brief moment it explodes, leaving damaging pools across every affected tile. Move out of the area before it goes off to avoid taking any damage.
Once it is done, immediately reactivate Protect from Magic before her next attack hits. After this she returns to her standard attack pattern but at a slightly faster pace. Keep repeating the same one tile movement strategy and you will be fine.
Third Phase
Once her HP reaches approximately 250, she performs the same prayer disabling AoE attack as before. Just like in the second phase, move out of the marked area before the explosion hits and turn Protect from Magic back on straight after.
What makes this phase significantly harder is the attack speed. After the AOE she stops using her standard auto attacks entirely and switches to rapid mortar spam. The projectiles come in much faster and your movement needs to be sharper. This phase catches a lot of players off guard so do not be discouraged if it takes a few attempts to get the timing right.
Just keep repeating the same strategy you have been using throughout the previous phases. The core loop does not change, it just demands more precision now that the projectiles are coming in faster. Move one tile to dodge the incoming mortar before it lands, then immediately follow up with an attack. Move again before the next one hits and attack again. Stay disciplined with that rhythm and keep an eye on your floor space since the pools will be building up faster than before. Keep pushing through and she will go down.
Wrapping Up
That covers everything you need to know to take down Echo Amoxliatl in Leagues 6. She is genuinely one of the trickier fights in the League and the final phase in particular will humble you the first few times you see it. Do not get discouraged if the early attempts feel messy. Once the movement pattern clicks in, the kills start coming in much more consistently. Stick with it and the Infernal Tecpatl will be yours before long.
