Agility is one of those skills in Old School RuneScape that everyone knows they need to level up but don’t know how to do it effectively. It’s a slow process and can become quite repetitive. But here’s the thing, high Agility makes everything else in the game so much better. Faster run energy regeneration, access to shortcuts that save you literal hours over time, and some pretty decent quest requirements all make it worth the effort in the long run.
The good news is that training Agility doesn’t have to be as painful as people make it out to be. With the right courses, a bit of planning, you can knock out those 99 levels without losing your mind. In this guide, I’ll walk you through the most efficient Agility training methods from level 1 all the way to 99, so you can get it done and move on to more fun stuff!
Complete 1-99 Agility Training Guide
The first thing I recommend doing is completing a couple of agility quests to get the starting agility levels done. To get started, first complete the Recruitment Drive quest which will give you 1000 XP. Afterwards, complete The Fremennik Trials for a gain of 2812 XP. And after completing those two quests, you will have enough agility to complete Depths of Despair quest for another 1500 XP.
With those three quests done, you will have an agility level of 21 which allows you to skip the first area of the grinding route that I will show you in this guide.
Best Agility Leveling Route for 1-99
Before getting started on this route, I highly recommend making good use of Summer Pies throughout your grind. They give you temporary +5 agility levels. With those extra levels, you will be able to move on to the next leveling area much quicker. At level 60 agility, it becomes much harder to get to the next level so the Summer Pie is extremely useful here.
Draynor Village Rooftops (1 – 20)
If you skipped the agility quests I mentioned above then you can get started with rooftops of Draynor Village for your first 20 levels of agility. Here you can get 10K XP per hour. One more thing, as you complete rooftops laps, Marks of Grace will spawn. You can collect those and trade them at the Grace Shop for parts of the Graceful Clothing.
Brimhaven Agility Arena (20 – 45)
At agility level 20, the Brimhaven’s agility arena will unlock. To enter the arena, you need to have 200 coins. Once inside the arena, simply spam the spike traps. You can gain over 33K XP per hour doing this. Below is the location of the arena.

Shayzien Advanced Course (45 – 50)
Once at 45 agility level, go to the Advance Shayzien Course for the next five levels. For this course, you need to have a crossbow and grapple. You can expect 30K to 35K XP per hour from this course. To reach the course, you can use Fairy Ring DJR or through Xeric’s Lookout (Xeric’s Talisman).

Colossal Wyrm Courses (50 – 60)
The next course on the line is the Colossal Wyrm Course located in Avium Savannah. You can start the basic course once you have level 50 agility and the advanced course at level 62 agility. This is by far my most favorite agility courses in the game as I find them quite relaxing. You can expect to gain 30K to 40K XP per hour through these courses. To get to this area, use Fairy Ring AJP.

Seer’s Village Rooftop Course(60 – 70)
Now it’s time to get back to the rooftops. At agility level 60, you can start going through the rooftops found in Seer’s Village for a gain of 40K to 55K XP per hour. To be most effective, use Camelot teleport to save time each lap. If you want, you can also use High Level Alchemy to get bonus magic XP as you are running the laps.
Pollnivneach Rooftop Course (70 – 80)
Pollnivneach is a small town located in the Kharidian Desert. You can still keep using Seer’s Village rooftops if you want to but if you have completed the Hard Dessert Diaries then Pollnivneach gives you much better XP. You can expect to get up to 60K XP per hour here.
Rellekka Rooftop Course (80 – 90)
At level 80 agility, you will unlock the Rellekka’s Rooftop course. If you have completed the Fremennik Hard Diary, you will gain more XP here. You can expect a gain of 50K to 62K XP per hour through this rooftop course.
Ardougne Rooftop Course
Now for the final nine levels, head to the capital of Kandarin, Ardougne. Here you can start taking laps through the rooftop course until you max out your agility. The XP maxes out at 70K per hour here.
Alternative Methods
Here are two alternatives which you can try out with the base route that I have given you above.
Wilderness Agility Course (52+)
The Wilderness agility course provides the fastest XP gain from agility level 47 till 62 (if you use Summer Pie as this course unlocks at 52 agility level). You can get to this course through the Ice Plateau Teleport or through the The Wildy Level (make sure to bring a knife with you).
This is also the best method of gaining coins as you progress your agility. You need to pay 150K to the Dispenser to get loot each lap. The reason I have kept this as an alternative is because of the danger of the wilderness. You can get killed at any moment by PKs so make sure to be careful.

Hallowed Sepulchre (52+)
At level 52 agility, you will unlock the Hallowed Sepulchre which is located in the city of Hallowvale. You can get there through the Drakan’s Medallion Teleport (Darkmeyer). To get access to Darkmeyer, you first need to complete Sins of the Father quest.

This activity offers up to 100K XP per hour. But this is something that you can not do absent minded (like the other courses I mentioned above). You need to be active and time your clicks right. It can be a bit difficult to complete it if you are on your first run but the more runs you do, the easier it becomes. Before you try to tackle this activity, make sure to bring Crossbow, Grapple, Hammer, Nails, Saw, Planks and Runes of an enchanting spell with you.
Summing Up
So that’s your full roadmap to level 99 Agility in OSRS. It’s a grind, there’s no getting around that, but it’s one of those skills where the payoff genuinely makes the game better once it’s done. Running around with full energy, cutting through shortcuts that save you minutes every trip, and never having to worry about stamina potions again, it all adds up to make the hours you put in feel worth it.
My advice is to not burn yourself out trying to power through it all in one go. Do a few laps here and there between other activities, mix in the Wilderness course when you’re feeling bold, or tackle the Hallowed Sepulchre if you need something more engaging. But if you get tired of grinding agility then take a break sailing! Here’s our AFK Sailing guide.
