Romance is a key aspect of socializing, and that’s no different for your Mii characters in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream.

As your Miis interact with each other, they might suddenly start catching feelings for each other. Just like in real life, this can be sudden and even somewhat random! However, there are some things you can do to try to help them fall in love.

In this guide, I’ll give you various methods that you can use to play wingmate for your Miis.

How to Start Romance Between Miis

Walking Nearby

A simple way to trigger a crush is to simply make two Miis walk near each other. Not with each other, however, but just in the general vicinity.

The reason for this is that there’s a random chance that this will trigger an event where one Mii runs into the other. One of the Miis will then develop feelings for the other. This is essentially love at first sight, so it works even for pairs that are Strangers!

If you want an example of this exact event playing out, check out the next clip. It should give you an idea of what you’re looking for here.

Helping Each Other

You’ll often notice that your Miis have some purple lines above their heads, as shown above. This shows up whenever they require help. Maybe they fell and need help getting up, for example.

When you see this happen, it’s a perfect opportunity to help them develop feelings! Make another Mii assist the helpless Mii, and the Mii that receives the help might develop feelings. It even works when they’re still Strangers.

As before, though, this is easier to show than to describe! So, check out the next video for a quick example of what this looks like.

Sudden Crush

For this method, you’ll need your Miis to already be Acquaintances at a minimum. So, they’ll need to have met and interacted with each other previously. You can drag them together to help with that.

Now, this method is pretty much random. But the idea is that you should just try to put both Miis you want to make a couple together as often as possible.

In doing so, one or both of the Miis might just randomly develop a crush on the other. Whether or not this is ever reciprocated, though, is also completely random.

Nonetheless, the gist of this method is extremely simple: make Miis spend time together as much as possible and hope that things work out as you want them to.

Confirm Their Feelings

Lastly, you will sometimes see that your Miis have a pink-colored thought bubble over their head. It should look something like the one above, for reference.

Click on the thought bubble to hear your Mii out. If you’re lucky, they’ll tell you that another Mii is on their mind all the time or something along those lines. Maybe it’ll be the pairing you want!

Now, when this happens, you do get two choices. If you want to make them develop feelings for sure, tell them that “it is love”. Otherwise, just choose to tell them that it’s “all in their heads.”

Alternatively, sometimes your Miis will also ask you for love advice much more directly. They’ll directly tell you that they think they’re in love with another Mii.

Just like before, you can choose to confirm that “it’s love” if you want to reinforce their feelings. Otherwise, tell them they’re “imagining things” to try to deter them.

Wrapping Up

So, there you have it! That’s all of the ways I know of that you can try to help make a romance between your Mii characters happen in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream.

As always with this game, though, there’s a lot of randomness to keep in mind. Miis might develop feeling, then proceed to never act on them. Other times, they’ll act on them just to be turned down swiftly. It’s all unpredictable, just like life itself…

Nonetheless, at least you now know how to be a good wingmate for your Miis. Hopefully, things will work out exactly how you want them to. Good luck to you and your Miis!

Do you want to expand your Mii roster by importing and sharing Miis? While the game lacks an innate share feature, there are still workarounds! For more details, check out our Tomodachi Life Mii sharing guide.
