The main objective of the “Belly of the Beast” quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is to find and retrieve some delivery papers in Kyoto.

Lord Ise Sadaoki requires these delivery papers, has they contain information useful to him. Complete this simple task for him and he’ll help Naoe gain entry to Honnoji. The only tricky part is finding where the papers are…

In this guide, we’ll tell you the exact location of the Delivery Papers and how to reach them easily.

How to Retrieve the Papers | Belly of the Beast Quest Guide

You can find the papers you need to retrieve in a house somewhere near the middle of Kyoto in Yamashiro. We’ve marked its exact location on the map above. It’s just south of Nijo Palace and west of Nanban Temple.

The image above shows what the house looks like from the Nijo Tenshu Viewpoint. It’s a fairly large house surrounded by guards. You’ll need to infiltrate the house and check the easternmost room to find the delivery papers for the quest.

Now, there are multiple ways to enter this house. You can either go in through the front entrance in the north or sneak in by crawling under the house’s southern side. Whichever method you choose, you can either use stealth or go for head-on combat. It’s up to you!

Whichever method you end up going with, enter the main house building and follow your compass to the easternmost room. If you managed to stay in stealth all the way, you’ll find a lone guard staring out a window. Assassinate him, then inspect the table in front of the window to collect the Delivery Papers.

Objective completed! That’s how to retrieve the papers for the “Belly of the Beast” quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. You now just need to return to Ise Sadaoki to deliver the papers and finish the quest.

Speaking of tricky quest items, we also have a guide on how to find Ichiro’s Key during “Thrown to the Dogs.” Completing that pre-order-exclusive quest will allow you to get a new dog buddy as a pet!
