In this guide, we will be showing you how to free up some space!
How to Remove Items from Storage in The Alters
First up, head to your storage modules and access any of them to see what you have hidden in there. There, you will see all of the details that you will need in order to manage your storage capacity.
If you check each item, you will see a stat called “single item volume”. This indicates how much space each piece of whatever item that is will take up in your storage. If you are running low on capacity, you will need to get rid of some of these.
From there, just press the right mouse button to start destroying unwanted items to free up space. You seemingly cannot just take it out and put it on the side, so make sure to destroy only what you are willing to part ways with.

The Alters Beginner’s GuideJun 16, 2025In case you missed it, there is a prompt to “destroy” on the upper left corner of the storage screen. If you came here looking for ways to remove items temporarily, that unfortunately is not what we are here to show you.
Once you press the right mouse button, the destroy screen should pop up to ask you how many pieces you would like to destroy. If you are only trying to free up some space, make sure to calculate how much volume you actually need first just so you do not destroy more than necessary.
