It’s been just a bit over a week since the release of the Return of the Ancients patch in Path of Exile 2. And it goes without saying that people are having a blast! Some are comfortably grinding in the endgame maps while others are busy trying out new builds.
Meanwhile, some took their time to uncover some hidden mechanics that the game doesn’t tell you. One such thing is the new ring called The Taming.
Unlike most items in the game, you can’t get this ring via normal means. There’s a very specific method you should follow to get your hands on this one. Let’s find out how.
How to Get the New The Taming Prismatic Ring in Path of Exile 2

In case you’re wondering, The Taming is a unique prismatic ring that’s been secretly added in patch 0.5. It’s just one of the many new stuff that Grinding Gear Games added but didn’t tell anyone about.
The Taming boasts the aforementioned stats shown in the image. This makes it particularly useful for the meta Twister build, as it makes the already strong Twister skill even stronger.
With the use of this ring, you can now imbue your Twister projectiles with elemental effects for added elemental damage. Not only that, but it also lets you inflict Ignite, Shock, and Chill all at the same time!
The only problem is trying to get your hands on this one.

As of this writing, the ring sits at around 850 Exalted Orbs or 10 Divine Orbs in the market. If you don’t have the money to buy it, or are playing in Solo Self-Found, getting it manually is your best option.
What makes this ring even more unique is the fact that it doesn’t drop from any source, unlike some unique items that certain endgame bosses drop. Instead, you’ll have to do a bit of combining stuff.
In particular, you’ll need three Unique rings: Berek’s Grip, Berek’s Pass, and Berek’s Respite.
Forging the Rings

Now comes the hard part: looking for the forge. Once you have the three rings, you want to head to the Azmerian Ranges map in your Atlas.
Since map layouts are procedurally generated, you’ll have to do a bit of exploring to look for the forge. But for the most part, the forge just lies pretty close to the start of the map.

As soon as you enter the map, move just a short distance ahead, then look for a small pathway at the bottom. This will reveal a hidden location on the map. You should then see the door to the forge.
If you have the three rings, the door should light up and open.

Once you get inside, interact with the forge and place the three rings into the slot. Click Exchange, and after a short animation, you should then get the new ring. Identify it to reveal its modifiers.
Is The Taming Ring Worth Getting?
In my opinion, definitely.
If you’re running a Twister build, then it’s arguably one of the best items you can put in your Ring slot. With this, you won’t just limit your Twister to getting Cold damage, but you’ll also be dealing Fire and Lightning damage at the same time.
Besides, it’s great for building up status effects pretty quickly.
But even if you can’t use it on your build, you can still sell it on the market for some quick profit! So, if you have the rings, then go ahead and forge them into The Taming. This is just one of the many secrets that GGG added to patch 0.5 of Path of Exile 2.
There have been some really amazing discoveries out there, and we expect some more to be discovered as the league goes on.
