In Schedule 1, it’s a good idea to get your Botanists to work on a Drying Rack or two to maximize quality.

The Drying Rack is a piece of equipment that allows you to dry plant-based products, such as weed buds and coke leaves. This ends up resulting in a higher quality product, which is a requirement later in the game. The good thing is, your Botanists can automatically handle the entire process for you!

In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know to make Botanists use your Drying Racks.

How To Get Botanists To Work On Drying Rack Auto | Schedule 1

To get your Botanists to work on a Drying Rack, you just need to assign them the same way you would to pots. First, press 9 to bring up your Management Clipboard, and then approach the Botanist you want. While facing them, press E to start managing them.

Click on the Pots/Drying Racks text. Next, walk up to the Drying Rack you wish to make them manage and press E to assign them to it.

After assigning the Botanist, look at the Drying Rack and press E again. You can now define the quality you wish to aim for in the Target Quality section. If you’re not short on time, just click on the golden start on the far right. It’s the one for Heavenly-tier quality, which is the best currently in the game.

Also, make sure to define a Storage Rack as a Destination. It’s where your Botanist will place the dried product once it reaches the quality you asked for.

Next up, you need to define which product you want your Botanist to dry. There are two ways to do this.

Supplying the Drying Racks

The first way is to assign the Drying Rack as a destination for one of your pots. The Botanist in charge of the pot will automatically put the fully grown product on the Drying Rack, ready to be dried.

If you use this first method, we highly recommend having 2 Botanists. A Botanist should be assigned to Pots, while the other is assigned to Drying Racks. Assigning a single Botanist to both seems to cause issues pretty often. Oftentimes, the Botanist will just prioritize growing plants and end up never finishing putting the product to dry. Having 2 Botanists circumvents that and also fully automates the process.

The second way is to have the Botanist use a Storage Rack as a source. While managing the Botanist, just click on the Supplies section and then walk up to the Storage Rack you wish to use as their source. The Supply Rack should have any weed buds or coke leaves you want them to dry.

This second method gives you more control over what gets put to dry and what doesn’t. However, if you want to dry everything for maximum quality, we recommend the first method with 2 Botanists for full automation.

Nonetheless, there you have it! That’s everything you need to know to get your Botanists to work on the Drying Rack in Schedule 1. Make good use of this to fully automate the production of Heavenly-quality product, which is required later in the game.
