Now that so many people have their hands on both of these things, players are figuring out how to get ta hundred percent completion of the game. In the Freezer Layer, you will need to find three ancient record pieces, so in this guide, we will be showing you how to get them!
How to Find Freezer Layer Ancient Record Pieces in Donkey Kong Bananza
There are a total of three ancient record pieces to collect in the Freezer Layer for the Zebra Elder, and finding them is actually relatively simple. You will only need a few minutes of time to get it all done.
From the starting point, where you have to return all the record pieces, you can get to one just a light jog away. If you look at the map, you will see that it is just across a bit of lava, which begs the question, how do you cross it?
Approach the area and you will notice that there is a lot of snow on the high ground beside the lava. Pick up some snow and throw it at the lava leading towards the record piece, which you should be able to see from here. It is not far at all!

If you talk to the Zebra NPCs, they will tell you where the other record pieces are found (as well as the one we just collected). Our next stop is going to be the chunk of purple metal in an area full of lava, which an NPC will point you towards.
Proceed through the lava area carefully. To create pockets of walkable ground, pick up dirt from the ground and throw them at the large icicles stuck to the metal pipes up above. These will fall and cool down some of the lava, letting you pass through the area.
Eventually, you will reach the “super hard purple metal”that you can smash to claim the next ancient record piece. The only thing to note here is that breaking the purple metal will remove the terrain blocking the lava leading back to the record piece, which should now be free to grab.
Under where the purple metal used to be, which is what you are likely stepping on at that moment, a large block of ice will be revealed. Take chunks out of this to create a bridge towards the next ancient record piece.
With the ancient record piece on hand, use it to Turf Surf your way through the tunnel of lava next to the platform. This will lead you to a banana gem that you can claim, as well as a barrel that takes you right back to the zebra elder!
Finally, the last piece is going to be found at the giant fans in the map. Make your way to higher ground and you will find a lot of stationary metal fans, with some being chained by the void. Breaking the purple chains will cause their respective fans to move again.
With proper timing, you can jump from one of the fan blades to climb under the other fans above. Keep progressing through the fans until you reach another one chained by the void, which you can climb. At the top, you can break the bit of metal on one edge to cause the fan to move again.
Once the fan starts moving, you will have a clear path to reach the ancient record piece just ahead of you. After picking up this piece, simply jump down, because the zebra elder is almost directly below this spot!
And that is a wrap for these ancient record pieces. Just take your time with the fans, as some of these blades will occasionally rotate a bit and potentially throw you off.
