If you’ve been wandering around the East Wing of the Care Center as Grace, you’ve probably noticed those buckets of blood scattered everywhere. At first, it just looks like set dressing for a horror game, but once you find the Blood Collector, that mess becomes your most valuable resource.
The crafting system for Grace in Resident Evil Requiem is a bit different from your standard “Combine Herb + Herb” mechanic. It’s a mix of scavenging and laboratory science. Here is how to get the system up and running.
Finding the Blood Lab
The “hub” for this system is the Blood Lab, located in the East Wing. To get there, you’ll first need to have explored the West Wing to grab the necessary keycard.
- The Route: Start at the Central Hall and head right into the East Wing Lobby.
- The Path: Go through the Examination Room, then the Treatment Room, and follow the long corridor all the way to the end.
- The Sign: Luckily, there’s a big sign on the wall that says “Blood Lab,” so it’s hard to miss once you’re in the right hallway.

Once you’re here, you should be able to find the Blood Collector on the table.

Gathering Your Materials
Grace’s crafting relies on two main components: Blood and Scrap Metal.
- Infected Blood: Use your Blood Collector vial to interact with those buckets of blood you’ve seen around. You can extract it from other sources like bodies as well. If you look at the bottom of the vial in your inventory, you’ll see a small number—that tells you exactly how much “fuel” you’ve gathered.

- Scrap Metal: This is your standard Resident Evil crafting staple. You’ll find this tucked away in drawers, on shelves, or in crates.

Unlocking Recipes
This is where most people get tripped up. You don’t actually do the crafting at the large analyzer machine. The analyzer and the laser microscope are only for unlocking recipes.
- The Specimen: You need to find Blood Specimens
- The Puzzle: Take that blood specimen to the analyzer and solve the atom mini-puzzle (turning all the nodes round/active).

- The Result: Once the puzzle is solved, a new recipe is permanently unlocked in your inventory. For example, one of the early specimens unlocks Handgun Ammo and the Hemolytic Injector.
You’ll likely find the purple vial first as your first blood specimen but this is not the only one. Check out our blood specimen reversible guide to find and solve another one for additional recipes.

How to Actually Craft
Once you have the blood, the scrap, and the recipe unlocked, you don’t need to be near a machine at all.
Just open your Inventory Menu and go to the crafting tab. If you have the materials, you can whip up items on the fly. I highly recommend prioritizing the Hemolytic Injector. It’s not just for stealth kills; it literally “obliterates” the zombies so they can’t reanimate or mutate later. It’s a huge relief not having to worry about a body you left behind coming back to haunt you.

Final Thoughts
The Blood Collector system is Grace’s best friend. It takes a little extra work to find the purple specimens and solve the puzzles, but being able to craft your own ammo and those “one-and-done” Hemolytic Injectors makes the East Wing much more manageable. Just keep an eye on your blood levels—it’s easy to run dry if you’re crafting every time you find a bit of scrap.
