The cannon is known as the backbone of your artilleries in Holdfast: Nations At War. However, you can’t just walk up to a cannon and magically fix it whenever it’s destroyed.

If you don’t know how, this guide should help you out.

How To Repair Cannons in Holdfast: Nations At War

The only way that you can repair artillery pieces like cannons, mortars, swivel guns, rocket launchers, and long guns on the battlefield is by using the Sapper class.

The Sapper class carries a hammer and uses that to repair damaged artillery back to full health. This includes field guns that have taken enemy shots or gotten wrecked in combat.

At the same time, the Sapper can build defenses and handle engineering tasks. Repair isn’t limited to cannons, however, as it also covers all artillery pieces and player-built structures.

To repair a cannon, simply pick the Sapper support slot when spawning. Equip the hammer by pressing Q (default key). Approach the broken artillery piece, then strike it with the hammer until its health bar fills back up.

That’s it. The game treats artillery and defenses the same in this mechanic, so if you want to repair one, simply follow the steps above.

It’s worth mentioning that cannons that stay damaged long enough will simply respawn back at their base spawn point after a timer if no one repairs them.

This applies to moveable field guns too. While you can repair them, they won’t stay wrecked forever if you stand around doing nothing.
