Have a Nice Death is a Roguelike action 2D game where you play as Death. As Death, you hire the help of some demons to reduce your workload.

You have been tasked to bring order to your world after the top executive of Death Incorporated has gone rogue and blatantly disregarded your orders. 

Each stage of the game contains five levels after which you come face-to-face with the final boss. If you’re completely new to the game, here are the top tips you can use:

Visit the Best Floors

In Have a Nice Death, you can visit multiple floors at the end of stages. However, you should focus on Prismium Depot, Equipment Storage, and Thanager’s office first. All three carry different purposes and rewards.

Visiting the Prismium Depot can help you upgrade and improve your weapons as Prismium is the premier running currency and offers better rates than the standard Soulary currency.

Meanwhile, visiting the Equipment storage will help you discover new spells and weapons.  On the other hand, Thanager’s Office will get you an appointment with various mini-bosses who are known as Thanagers.

They will help you get Soulary currency and also different upgrades. It will also guarantee a visit from T. O’Shah (a coffin-dwelling creature) who will give you upgrades in the form of curses.

Dodge Attacks and Familiarize Your Enemies’ Moveset

There is a cool feature in the game where you can tell when exactly the minions in each stage will strike you.

Basically, an exclamation symbol will pop on the top of a minion just before it strikes. This is your cue on when you can dodge the attacks and mount a counterattack.

Meanwhile, bosses have completely different and more damaging movesets. When you come face-to-face with Sorrows or the Thanagers, take your time learning their movesets.

This will help you familiarize yourself with their moves in advance so you can plan your attacks accordingly.

However, make sure you don’t prolong the fight too much as Sorrows will whip out new moves as its health bar depletes while Thanagers can perform new attacks as well!

Focus on a Single Weapon Upgrade

When you start the game, you are equipped with a Scythe, Cloak weapons, and Spells.

The Scythe is a basic weapon that you can upgrade as the game progresses. Meanwhile, Cloak weapons have a cooldown while the spells require mana to cast. 

Now, you can always upgrade these three weapons as you progress, but it would be wiser if you focus on just one or two of them.

Perfecting just one or two weapons will be more efficient since you can properly allocate your resources.

Also, your skill in one specialized weapon will be handier rather than trying to master all three and then just being average in all the categories.
