In Granblue Fantasy Relink, some ally characters are automatically unlocked pretty early on in the game. One of these characters is the knight Katalina. Katalina is a combat-based character with some decent healing and defense abilities as well. She’s a pretty fun character to use.

Katalina has a pretty interesting skill set that isn’t easy to put to full use. That’s where this guide aims to help out, providing a detailed breakdown of how you can play Katalina effectively.

How to Play Katalina

Katalina is a well-rounded water-based character that has good attack and support abilities. As a knight, she uses her sword as her primary weapon and is a melee main. When it comes to a hybrid character, she’s one of the best and deserves a spot on your team

We will be discussing all of Katalina’s skills, best sigils, and teammates to use.

Skills:

1. Enchanted Lands:

Enchanted Lands is a lunge attack that serves as a good gap closer. This deals more hits and does more damage when Ares is out.

2. Heal:

This is a standard healing move that heals all your allies in an area. This area of effect can be made larger by having Ares out.

3. Frozen Blade:

This is a ranged spell Ice attack that can be enhanced by using Ares. You can use this two times before it enters a cooldown period.

4. Light Wall:

Light Wall is a buff skill that makes Katalina invincible for a short period of time upon use. If used with Ares out, you can make your entire party invincible. The period of time is around 10 seconds long, making this a very useful skill.

5. Sacred Wind:

This is a debuff skill that freezes enemies in an area around you. Keep in mind that its only effect is that of freezing the enemies, and it does no damage. The area in which enemies are affected increases when Ares is in use.

Support Skill: Ares

Katalina’s primary gameplay loop and her special skill revolve around using Ares. Ares is a summon that can be called when your Ares gauge is full. You should be using Combo A to charge up her Ares quickly, and Combo D to charge it to the max.

Her primary gameplay loop is doing basic combos to charge Ares and then using her enhanced abilities. These abilities such as Sacred Wind and Light Wall assist your allies out greatly.

Sigils:

Katalina can make use of certain Sigils to further boost her usefulness through additional buffs. Be sure to upgrade these sigils as you play too. The sigils you should be making use of are:

1. Quick Cooldown III:

As you may have noticed, Katalina’s strengths lie in her skill usage. Having Quick Cooldown III can help greatly by allowing you to use her skills more often

2. Combo Booster III:

Combo Booster allows you to make better use of Katalina’s combos. You’ll be making use of them anyway for Ares, so this is just a bonus.

3. Critical Hit Rate III:

Katalina’s sword has a critical hit rate on it, boosting it is a pretty simple good decision to make.

Note: It is worth noting that Katalina’s biggest disadvantage is her lack of crowd control. This can be circumvented by making use of teammates with good crowd-control abilities.
