Simply put, you just have to complete certain quests which grant “Crewmate Cards”. You can then spend these cards at Siero’s Knickknack Shack in the hub area.

Just select the Crewmate Card option and you will get a list of every recruitable character. You can unlock whoever you want in any order you want!

So then, with that out of the way, the best ones for solo players are as follows:

Ferry promo screenshot

Ferry – Everyone’s favorite whip-wielding summoner is here! Her whip attacks have extremely long range, allowing her to cover wide areas with her attacks.

On top of that, she can summon minions to help turn the tide of battle.

Ghandagoza promo screenshot

Ghandaghoza – This brutal brawler is capable of dealing extreme stun damage with his fists. He can be great for stunning enemies with ease, making battles easier.

Siegfried promo screenshot

Siegfried – He’s capable of stunning enemies with devastating attacks, but his Salvator team skill is what really sets him apart.

This skill will protect your party from debuffs, while also giving them a lifesteal ability.

Vane promo screenshot

Vane – The king of tanks, as far as Granblue Fantasy Relink is concerned. He can heal himself and dispel status effects, making him quite resilient.

More importantly, though, he can erect an Invincibility barrier for his team on command.

Zeta promo screenshot

Zeta – She’s capable of straight-up ignoring certain attacks due to her aerial mobility, and she can also parry enemies on top of that.

This makes her an all-around fantastic choice for a consistent DPS character.

Honorable Mentions

Rosetta promo screenshot

As a bonus, we also want to shout out Rosetta and Io. Those two are fantastic for solo play, and they don’t even need to be unlocked!

Rosetta can easily stagger weak enemies to make them easier to handle, as well as use debuffs for tougher encounters.

Io gameplay screenshot

Io, on the other hand, is a one-stop shop for elemental devastation. She can use every type of element with her powerful spells, allowing her to decimate foes with ease.

So, with all that said, now you know which characters to focus on as you dive into this action-RPG set in the Granblue Fantasy universe!
