Traps in Gloomhaven can be fairly dangerous. We’ll teach you how to disarm them safely. But there’s more options than just disarming, such as turning them on your enemies. We’ll go over multiple ways to deal with these traps besides just disarming.
How to Disarm Traps in Gloomhaven
Disarming traps in Gloomhaven is something that only some characters can actually do regularly. For example, the Scoundrel. The Scoundrel’s “Thief’s Knack” card allows you to disarm traps. To do so, the Scoundrel must be placed next to the trap you wish to disarm. Then, use the card and choose which trap to target.
But properly disarming a trap like this is just one way. There are other more creative methods, using other abilities and characters. You can push enemies onto traps, for one, forcing them to take the damage so you don’t have to. Cards like the Brute’s Warding Strength comes in handy here.
Additionally, enemies will decide to walk over traps if there simply is no other available path to you. This means that you can draw them towards traps, though this will require some cleverness on your end to achieve.
If all else fails, you can simply walk onto the trap. This will disarm it after your character takes damage. It’s hardly ideal, but sometimes there simply is no other option. Make a tanky healthy character take one for the team if you simply have no other options and you really need to get pass the trap. It just has to be done sometimes!
