You’ll come across various “Message from a City Resident” puzzles as you explore all the Constellation Metropole area in Genshin Impact 4.8 has to offer.

These messages hint towards treasure, and they just require you to solve small puzzles to claim the rewards. It’s a nice little distraction, plus it’s nice to get some extra resources to level up your Traveler’s party.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to solve all 4 “Message From a City Resident” puzzles in Simulanka’s Constellation Metropole area.

All Message From a City Resident Puzzles | Genshin Impact 4.8 Guide

Message 1 – Down to Earth

Message 1 – Down to Earth Location

You can find the first puzzle and its message in front of a house in the southeastern part of the Constellation Metropole area in Simulanka.

Message 1 – Down to Earth

This message simply tells you to check the backyard of this house. You should find the treasure there, on the rocks under the tree.

Message 1 – Down to Earth

Just like the message stated, go behind the house to find the backyard with a lone tree. Notice that the rocks have a pile of leaves on top of them.

Message 1 – Down to Earth

Simply use an Anemo attack on the pile of leaves to make them disappear and reveal the first treasure! This also gives you an idea of what to expect from the future “Message From a City Resident” puzzles in Genshin Impact, as all of them follow this overall formula.

Message 2 – Sound of the Bell

Message 2 – Sound of the Bell Location

For this message, go to the southwestern corner of the Constellation Metropole as shown above.

Message 2 – Sound of the Bell

This time, you’ll be told to climb atop the bell tower and follow the sound of the bell.

Message 2 – Sound of the Bell

Now, the bell tower building is right behind the message and you can climb it manually. However, you can also use the Magic Thread in the corner instead to automatically fly to the top. It’s faster and easier!

Message 2 – Sound of the Bell

Once you’re at the top, stand under the bell and interact with it to ring it. This will make a set of platforms appear nearby.

Message 2 – Sound of the Bell

You’ll notice these platforms have sets of glowing blue orbs. You have to touch the sets of orbs in order, from the lowest to highest. First 1 orb, then 2 orbs, then finish by touching the 3 orbs, as shown in the image above.

Message 2 – Sound of the Bell

Once you’ve done that, stand inside the white circle to make a Magic Thread totem spawn. Interact with it to move on to the next set of platforms.

Message 2 – Sound of the Bell

Just like before, you now have to touch the sets of orbs in order. It’s the same as before, from lowest (1 orbs) to highest (4 orbs). They’re cramped together closely though, so be careful not to touch the wrong set out of order.

Message 2 – Sound of the Bell

Then, stand inside another white circle to make the next set of platforms appear. Walk across following the platforms until you reach another white circle.

Message 2 – Sound of the Bell

Now, stand inside of the final white circle. Another group of orbs will appear, illuminating your path across the rooftops. Touch the orbs in order from lowest to highest as you jump across the rooftops toward your goal!

Message 2 – Sound of the Bell

The treasure chest will appear on a lower platform once you touch the final orb. Glide down to claim your well-deserved reward.

Message 3 – Graffiti Patterns

Message 3 – Graffiti Patterns Location

You can find this message in the central part of the Constellation Metropole, approaching the northeastern corner.

Message 3 – Graffiti Patterns

This time you will be tasked with looking at graffiti near the message and understanding the patterns. More specifically, pay attention to the animals drawn within the white circles. All of the graffiti are near the message, with arrows pointing toward the next one.

Message 3 – Graffiti Patterns

Simply follow the graffiti while paying attention to the patterns and you will eventually reach a blank white circle. Approach it and interact with it, then choose to “draw a little frog”.

Message 3 – Graffiti Patterns

Follow the arrow up the stairs to reach the second empty white circle. Interact with it and choose to “draw a little flying squirrel”.

Message 3 – Graffiti Patterns

As soon as you do so, the treasure chest will spawn next to you! Open it up to claim your rewards. Guess they do pay for street art in Simulanka, huh?

Message 4 – Seats in the Station

Message 4 – Seats in the Station Location

The final message is on the outskirts of the station at the northern end of the Constellation Metropole area.

Message 4 – Seats in the Station

Apparently, the city resident has run out of ideas for hiding spots this time. The message simply tells you that the treasure is hidden near the seats in the station.

Message 4 – Seats in the Station

Go north from the message and hear toward the station itself. You should instantly see the seats as you approach the station. Go toward the crate on the right side of the seats.

Message 4 – Seats in the Station

Once you reach the seats, you should notice the pile of leaves next to the seats. Just like with the first message puzzle, use an Anemo attack or something similar to get rid of the leaves and reveal the treasure!

Message 4 – Seats in the Station

So, that’s all there is to it. You’ve now completed all of the “Message From a City Resident” puzzles in the Constellation Metropole area of Simulanka in Genshin Impact. Nice little brain teasers to give you a break from beating up Hilichurls, plus the rewards weren’t too bad.

Speaking of puzzles, though, the Constellation Metropole also has various toy figures that need help. Check out our guide on how to solve all the “help toy figure escape from danger” puzzles!
