Everspace 2 has a helpful crafting system, and learning how to use it will be crucial for tackling some of the game’s hardest content.
You can either improve things you have or make new things altogether.
Since acquiring gear is completely random in this game, crafting will allow you to sidestep that random chance of obtaining gear.
In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about crafting in Everspace 2.
How to Craft in Everspace 2
You can craft any item you wish in your Inventory at any time. You can craft every type of equipment, including Superior quality weapons, as well as components and consumables.
However, you will first require Blueprints!
Blueprints are obtained in two main ways. You can either dismantle a piece of equipment 3 times to learn its blueprint, or you can find them as loot from killing enemies or opening containers.
Note that blueprints are quality-specific. For example, dismantling 3 Uncommon Gauss Cannons will only get you the Uncommon Gauss Cannon blueprints. It won’t allow you to craft other qualities.
You also can’t choose to craft specific variants, such as the Flak’s “Powerful Penumbra” variant. There are no blueprints for them.
However, you might craft a variant randomly when crafting the base type.
As for dismantling, you can only dismantle things when you have Cargo Unit equipped on your ship.
Make sure to get one ASAP, as dismantling is a fantastic way to get resources quickly! We highly recommend that you dismantle junk items instead of selling them.
Hover over the item you want to dismantle and press the “Dismantle” button shown on the screen.
Some of the materials required for crafting can only be obtained by dismantling. Meanwhile, you can obtain the rest from mining nodes on the surface of planets and asteroids.
Once you’ve gathered the blueprints and materials, you just need to open up your Inventory menu and go to the Crafting tab.
Pick which type of item you want to craft from the list on the left. Then, choose a blueprint on the middle section of the screen. You will see the required materials in the middle bottom.
Alternatively, you can also modify the gear you already have. This allows you to increase its rarity, its level, remove level restrictions, and install Catalysts.
Now you know how to make use of crafting! Make good use of this extremely useful feature to make powerful items, giving yourself an easier time.
Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
