Dynasty Warriors: Origins does things differently from the main line of games by having you play as a blank slate character rather than switching between various iconic faces from the franchise. In this guide, we will be quickly going through how you can perform a battle art chain, which is something you can do while paired up with a companion.

How to do a Battle Art Chain

Simply put, a battle art chain is exactly what it sounds like. By using your battle art at a particular moment, your companion will follow up with their own, resulting in a devastating amount of damage being dealt in a short period of time.

Very early in the game, you are given the task of performing one of these, which might be confusing to some players. In order to successfully do a battle art chain, first make sure that you are playing a mission that allows you to have a companion.

Once you get started with the battle, just keep performing well in combat until a blue line appears between you and your companion. They should also have a pair of blue hexagons over their head, and your abilities will start glowing blue as well.

When this occurs, just use any battle art and it should trigger a “battle art chain” in which both you and your companion dish out a ton of damage back to back. You can do this the second you get the blue link, so keep an eye out for it at all times!

That is really all there is to it, so always pay attention to these signs on your screen to know when you can trigger battle art chains for bonus damage. With this knowledge, you can further juggle or stagger key targets by saving these join attacks solely for them!
