Dinkum is a pretty relaxing farming and crafting simulation, and it’s one that’s grounded in reality. You have a lot of activities to do in order to progress, and one of them involves trapping animals. If you don’t know how to trap animals or are yet to try it, then this guide is for you.

How to Trap Animals in Dinkum

The essence of trapping animals in Dinkum is to capture them so you can bring them to the menagerie. But before you can do that, you have to meet a specific requirement first. That is to apply for a trapping license. You can do this by talking to Fletch and buying it for 500 permit points.

Once you have a license, you’ll then be able to start trapping animals. You’ll start with learning how to craft a simple trap. The game will also introduce you to the animal collection point which is necessary to start collecting animals in the game.

First off, craft your animal collection point so you can sell the animals you capture in exchange for Dinks. After crafting your collection point, you’re then free to craft as many traps as you want. You will need a lot of them to start capturing animals.

For the actual trapping activity, you’ll want to place your traps near the animals around the island. However, you have to wait patiently for them to get caught in your trap. It shouldn’t take too long if you place it close to your target animal. After an animal is trapped, simply pick it up and head over to the animal collection point to exchange it for Dinks.

The higher your trapping license level is, the better your traps become. With a level 2 license, you can craft more durable traps that will let you capture even tougher animals. This, in turn, lets you earn more Dinks from the collection point.
